Dear (F/n),I'm glad you are faring well. It would be unfortunate that we could only communicate via monthly letters, but the bus driver has informed us that the school has updated to a daily run schedule, along with installing telephones. Yes, I know how to operate one. We agreed to NEVER bring up that incident.
They may be interested in another, but I would advise caution. Dead Apostles are not to be trifled with, and it can be dangerous to associate with one as you well know. Succubi as well. A witch is most curious. They are rarer than Mages for obvious reasons.
Unfortunately, you are correct. It's likely your father would have done the same. And I would if I see no other choice. What is concerning is the fact that you nor the perpetrators have seen any disciplinary action since you have failed to mention if there was.
Please keep us informed.
Love,
Rin Tohsaka (Mom)
You finished reading the letter in the afternoon at the tail end of classes. It was a good thing that contact was a lot more doable. Not to mention the school said they were also setting up Wi-Fi, much to your delight.
Yokai Academy had designated this day for their club fair. As with any school, they strongly encouraged extracurricular activities. Most of this group of friends you were in had taken the bait. So when classes ended early, you accompanied them to where the club fair was.
The idea of extracurricular clubs and monsters proved rather bizarre. Apparently a good number of the club members had an obvious reason or association with their organization and made no secret of what monster they were, somewhat violating the rules. But come to think of it, there had been multiple incidents of that violation occurring on campus, yet there had been no form of enforcement on the perpetrators including you.
Thus far, none of the group had reached anything conclusive. That's when something got your attention.
"What's with the ruckus over there?" You pointed out to the group. Moka, Kurumu, Yukari and Tsukune gazed over in that direction. There was a crowd of male students, all of which were excited. Gently, you and the others made their way through to what was the source of the commotion.
It was the Swimming Club booth. Specifically. The source of excitement was the fact that all of the club members present were female and in bikinis. The one up front spoke first.
"Hi. I'm Tamao Ichinose, Captain of the swim team. Would you like to swim with us?" The sweet tone alone of a second year in a purple two piece and sarong on her waist sent the males into a cheer. You would be lying if you did not feel some kind of appeal, but you felt something else. That same mental pinch, though not as severe, happened when Kurumu used her charm influence. Those mental firewalls had detected something trying to influence you. And it must be the swim captain. The mind worked to figure out what kind of monster. A Siren? Mermaid? It would make the most sense with the association to water.
"As of now, the swim club is made up of female members." Tamao further proclaimed. "So any of the guys jointing will get special treatment from the seniors."
While this drove the boys wild, that furthered your wariness. Only female members? Guys getting special treatment? None of this was sounding off to anyone else?
"Tsukune..." Moka pulled at Tsukune's blazer. Her tone betrayed a sense of nervousness.
"Moka?" The boy turned to face her.
"Do... do you want to join this club?"
"I don't know." The boy admitted. "Maybe we should look elsewhere."
