The field trip itself was not the hard part. By coincidence, there was in fact a trip to the human world for the class, featuring Ruby yet again doing an odd job as a tour guide with yet another long story. No, the hard part was getting away. As luck would have it, you and Tsukune were roommates and within the same group at the hotel the students were expected to stay in. So that meant-"Tsukune, I need a favor." You said to him on the bus.
"Sure. What is it?"
"Mom needs me to come home. Mage business." You explained. "I need you and the others to cover for me while Saber and I are gone."
"Okay. How long are you guys going to be gone?"
"A few days." You answered. Transferring a family crest was long and delicate process. You would have to show up, take position for the ritual, receive the transplant and then Mom would keep you in quarantine until she was positive your body did not reject it. Even family members were at risk when it came to compatibility, which made it more dangerous for one particular aspect.
Mom had managed to use her connections in the Mages Association to get ahold of any and all records of Kiritsugu Emiya and his line, even retrieving his body in the graveyard at Ryodou Temple. In an unheard of feat, she had managed to extract a part of his crest from a decades old corpse and restore it. Then, in a very few tense sessions, it was added to you and is how you managed to learn and use Time Alter.
The interesting story did not stop there. Most of Mom's crest had been passed down to you as well. As for your father, well one had to be made first. Making a crest for a Reality Marble proved to be immense. After all, it was an innate Bounded Field made by an Incarnation. As such, only part of the crest had been bestowed upon you. To be clear, the crest could be considered as more of a database. It would not deprive the old man of his Reality Marble, but it imparted the knowledge, thus potentially spawning a new one.
Which meant that Mom's request was specifically so that you could inherit more of your father's magic crest. In a way, you were forging your own crest: The Tohsaka-Emiya Crest.
"That long?" Tsukune replied incredulously.
"It's not that Fuyuki is far off, but I've gotta be careful. This stuff can kill me if something goes wrong."
"Okay. We'll cover for you." Moka cut in as well.
"Do you have to do this now?" Kurumu asked. She looked rather disappointed.
"Did you dare to disobey your mom in hitting on me? Or tell the truth for that matter."
"I fessed up." The succubus clarified. "I was only doing it for the day. I'm not dumb enough to pick a fight with a vampire again."
"Why's Saber going with you though?" Yukari asked.
"Besides being family, she's the the designated driver."
"Well.... that makes sense." The witch mumbled. "But how are you going to get away when we're in groups?"
"Trust me. We'll get an opportunity."
The opportunity came when the Newspaper Club went to the pond to feed fish, because of course Nekomine would do that. With a nod to Saber, the two of you slipped away back to the streets.
"That takes care of that problem." You commented. "Now we need to get back to Fuyuki. Good thing Mom helped coordinate the transportation."
"Indeed." Saber smiled, eager to go to the next phase of the plan. For parked close to the same park where the pond resided, was a custom motorcycle meant specifically for the King of Knights to ride. She took great pleasure in this modern mount, further enhanced by your parents design. For instance, it would remain parked until Saber or someone she permitted to could access it.
