"That's her name? Akasha?" You asked."Yes." Moka answered. Issa stalked off, away from where you lay. In truth lit was more accurate to say he was walking aimlessly. So you felt a twinge of guilt for the accidental trigger you just pulled as a consequence.
Akasha or the Akashic Records in Magus terminology was essentially another term for the Root. The Root was where all souls originated from and returned to upon death. In essence, you were just saying in a fancy way that you did not want the Outer Moka to die. Who would have thought it was also the name of Moka's mother?
Right away, the thought of Issa Shuzen interacting with the Root in such a way was discarded. Even if he managed to achieve what so many Magus dream of, merely touching it would mean he would depart from the world. In fact, Zeltretch and other users of Magic's Second, Third and Fourth used them as a means to reach the Root but not touch it. By avoiding touching it, a Magus would gain Magic and thus become a Magicican.
No, it was coincidence that the late mother of your girlfriend had the same name. That said, it was one hell of a coincidence.
"Lord Issa." The vampire swirled around to face you, but you remained steady despite the precarious position.
"I was merely referring to another name for the Root. So I apologize for upsetting you and Moka." You told him as diplomatically as you could. "I just didn't want the Outer Moka to die. Phantom or not, her soul exists as a separate entity. The fact that Lilith's Mirror can split them makes it irrefutable fact. Yes, I most certainly want to be with Moka unimpeded, but I did not wish it to come at the cost of another."
"I see." Issa said after a long sigh. "A naive point of view, but admirable nonetheless. Zeltretch mentioned such idiotic tendencies now that I think of it. I say this, because you are stepping into things much over your head boy."
"I come from a family that has connections to Kaleidoscope, a Reality Marble, Mystic Eyes, the Mage's Association and multi generational involvement in the Holy Grail Wars. Try me." You challenged.
"Regardless, I feel it's important to tell you as well my daughter." Issa glanced at Moka. "It seems you're beginning to recover memories if you remember her name."
"Father, what are you getting at?" Moka demanded.
"I did not give you a Rosary to seal you on an impulse. It's for your safety, and for much of what I know for that matter." Issa glanced to you before continuing." As I'm sure you're aware, vampires live for a long time. Akasha Bloodriver resided with her king in Wallachia in the 15th century. Despite attempts to coexist, the kingdom was destroyed and she stayed the course whereas Alucard committed to revenge."
"Alucard being the anagram for Dracula." You cut in. A pause ensues when the vampires stared at you in surprise. "What? I know enough Van Helsing lore for that at least."
"Yes, well during the ensuing fight centuries ago, Akasha allowed herself to be devoured by Alucard to restrain him from within. I rescued my soon-to-be wife, but her connection remains from being merged for so long. It's known as Shinso blood, and a good amount of it was transfused to save you from weakness early in your life Moka." Issa elaborated.
"So this Shinso blood is connected to Alucard?" Moka asked her father.
"Yes. And if it's awakened, it will awaken Alucard from his slumber as well. That's why your mother gave you the rosary and altered your memories. It was so you could have a life away from Alucard." Issa continued mournfully. "So that her sacrifice would not be in vain."
So in summary, Moka's mom apparently knew and fought against the famous vampire, let herself be consumed to seal him away. Then Issa and company rescued her from that long enough for Moka to come along, seal her away to avoid all this and then.... what?
