Rowan slept for forty days and when he woke up he went to SunGlass City.
It was a Friday so they decided to go to Wolfs after school. Well after quarter past three to make it look like they didn't dodge.

"Hey Wolf." He mother called through with her thick Scottish accent.
"Ugh don't call me that." She moaned.
"Hi Lynn!" Ire called through.
"Hi Maisie! Lois!"
"It's Tom." Tom said quietly.
The house was well kept, family photos covered the walls and candles filled the air. There was at least one quote from The Bible or facebook on every downstairs wall.
"Rowan." Said her father, coming in from the kitchen.
"Hi..." Rowan greeted.
"Quickly." Wolf dragged her friends to her room.

It was dark. Blinds blocked the sun and her bed was never made.
"Rowan you staying over?" Tom asked.
"Nah, I'll go home later. Sleep in a bed."
"You are though ye?" Wolf asked the other two.
"Obviously." Tom laughed, "Taids always cool y'know that."
"It's Friday, Sue won't mind." Ire said (Sue's her mum).

They talked for a while. Long enough to get hungry so Wolf got the chippy on her phone.
"But your mum said she'd make us food?" Tom asked.
"She's guilt trippin' you, we'll get Angle." Wolf sighed.
"Don't be mean they're sweet." Ire said.
"Yea, they seem nice." Rowan agreed.
"They are, Wolf just hates them."
"I don't, I just... live with them, y'know? They're..."
"What? In love?" Ire teased.
"They are!" Tom said. "Rowan doesn't know Wolf can I tell him?"
"I guess."
"It's so romantic!" Tom began, "So ye, they went to the same university and he'd leave his class early to wait outside everyday with a sunflower because they were her favourite."
Wolf became one with the beanbag hearing the story again.
"Then they'd go to this cafe and they did it the whole year. So when he went to her place her parents had this farm and he went for the first time and she'd planted every sunflower he'd ever given her in this big field and there were hundreds by now and then they got married and Wolf gave out sunflower petals at-"
"Wait you were the flower girl?" Rowan
"Shut uuuuup." Wolf sank.
"Yea! And she was tiny and had this cute dress on."
"Ha! Are there any photos?" Rowan laughed.
"No!" Wolf shot up, "Rowan, order." She gave him her phone.
She'd already put everyone elses in.

So Rowan selected food he hoped he'd like and Wolf ordered a moment before the door bell went.
Everyone looked at each other with the same joke working up.
"Pizza's early." Ire was the one to say it.
Wolf wasn't smiling, she got a notification that her order was outside.
They rushed to open the door to a man with their food. Wolf took the bags and thanked him.
"How'd you do that?" Ire asked.
"Yea you got a time machine?" Tom asked.
The man was shocked and vanished on the spot. They had to comprehend it before the chips went cold.

"Did you used to live at the farm?" Rowan asked, enjoying his food.
"Yea. It's abandoned now."
"Oh."
"But it was awesome." Tom told.
"We only lived there for a bit, and it smells a lot better here so."
"We used to save lunch from school and climb on the roof and throw it down for the pigs." Ire said.
"Guess we never stopped doin' that." Wolf smiled.
"How'd you mean?" Rowan asked.
"We used to hang out on top of maths." Ire said.
"Like on top? The roof?"
"Yea."
"That's pretty cool actually."

By eleven Tom was falling, laying on the bed listening to an album Ire showed them about evil ghosts and ancient aliens.
Rowan sat back against the bed, only half paying attention to the game of monopoly.
"Rowan?" Ire tried to get his attention, "Jafar!"
"Huh? Wh- don't call me that." He laughed.
"It's your turn."
"Oh."
"...are you okay?"
"Ye, 'course." He sat forward.
"...you thinking about..?" Ire asked.
"I should tell you." He said, "Like what's going on."
"What is it?"
He took a deep breath before starting.
"The sky isn't real. Or, it's not what you think it is. I wanted to touch the sky, and I did." He told, feeling cool, "I can only fly because I saw the sky's fake, there was a big hole in it, and I touched the top."
"How high is it?" Ire asked.
"I..." Surprise stopped him for a second, "I think it changes. When I touched it it was- a hundred feet maybe. I'm not good with distance, but... you believe me?"
"Yea." Ire said, "Well, I don't think you're lying."
Wolf didn't say anything, she just thought.
"Now I'm... well I'm gonna find it, whatever it is I guess, I don't really know."
"Well that can be SunGlass City." Ire announced, "We'll dedicate SunGlass City to find the sky- the truth, or whatever you want."
"You wanna help?"
"Hell yea, it sounds amazing!"
"...it's dangerous." He said, a little too proud of the fact.
Ire noticed Wolf unsure of what to do with herself.
"I mean, that wasn't part of the sky?" She asked to a silent answer, "...then we'll play it safe." She nodded, "Wolf?"
Wolf finally looked up. Rowan gave her a nod so she agreed.
"Settled then."
"What about Tom?" Rowan asked.
"She'll be fine don't worry."

"So I've been thinking since Wolf told us about it." Ire began, "You- you're not your body?"
"No." Rowan said firmly.
"So. If you woke up and had my body now yea, and your memories were replaced with mine, you wouldn't know no." She said, "You'd think you're me. So, would you be as much me as I am now, if there's nothing else?"
"What," Wolf spoke up, "...like, no spirit?"
This struck Rowan. If his body walked away, was he only memories. He could remember the experience, which led him to believe he was something else which could make memories. But he couldn't be sure, which is always scary.
"Are you okay?" Ire asked.
Rowan fell back from space.
"Yea." He nodded unconvincingly, "It's getting late anyway."
"What? Your mum gonna worry?" Wolf teased.
"As if."
