"I'm really happy for you, y/n," my mom says as she curls my hair. "I know you've been dreaming of this day for a while."
I smile at her through the mirror, "I know. It almost doesn't feel real."
"I'm glad you two made up. He's been really good to you recently," she moves on to another strip of hair.
I blush and look away, "he has."
"How do you want your makeup?" She asks when she finishes up my hair.
"Um, however you think," I say, not really sure the route to go.
"Wow, you're giving me the reigns, that's new," she jokes.
I roll my eyes, "yeah, yeah. I'm feeling generous today, I guess."
She starts digging through my makeup bag and brings out a dark purple eyeliner pen and goes to work on my eyelids. Afterwards, she instructs me to keep my eyes closed as she rustles around more. Soon enough, I feel the soft brush of eyeshadow being applied.
"Okay, open," she says and I obey. She smiles at the sight, "perfect. Now maybe a little bit of blush," she looks at me for the go ahead and I nod. Her smile gets bigger at my response and she grabs some blush out, "you're being extra generous tonight. You never let me do the works when it comes to your makeup."
I laugh, "enjoy it while you can."

"Close your eyes," she says once she's finally done with my makeup

"Close your eyes," she says once she's finally done with my makeup. I close my eyes and she grabs both of my hands to guide me off of the chair, walk around it, and face the full length mirror in the corner of my room. I feel her fluff out my dress before finally saying, "okay, open them."
I open them to see all of the hard work and effort she put into my appearance and I can't help but smile. "Wow," I breathe out, "this is great, mom. Really great." Tears started to form and I immediately start fanning my eyes to keep them from escaping and ruining my makeup.
I sigh, "I have to look away, I'm going to cry." I turn to face my mom to see that she is crying.
"You're so beautiful," she whispers.
"You made me that way," I say and then laugh, "in more ways than one."
"Chase is here," dad yells up the stairs.
"You ready to make your entrance?" Mom asks.
"I guess so," I give a breathy laugh. She follows me out of the door and I slowly make my way down the stairs, careful not to fall on the way.
"Holy shit," I hear Chase breathe out as I reach the last step. My mom and dad start laughing at his reaction and his face turns pink, "I mean... wow."
"You don't look too bad yourself," I fix his tie so it's not crooked.

He smiles sheepishly, "yeah, that thing was not cooperating."
I laugh at him and my mom chimes in holding up her iPhone, "lets start the pictures so you kids can get on the road soon."
I laugh as Chase pulls me to his side, "let the madness begin," I whisper which causes him to shake with silent laughter.
