We sit down at our favorite spot on the beach and I hold the box with the bear I made him in my lap and smile at him. He smiles back, doing the same thing. "I think you should open it first," we say simultaneously. I laugh, "you're opening it first." I had him my box and he sets his next to him and I start recording his reaction subtly.

He opens it and a smile spreads across his face, "okay, this is adorable." "Give it a hug," I tell him excitedly. He hugs it and it says "I love you," with my voice. His eyes light up, "you didn't." I smile, "I did." "I love it," he smiles, "and I love you." "I love you too," I laugh and stop recording. "Your turn," he hands me his box.

I open it and smile at the outfit he picked out for his bear, "I love it." "Give it a hug," he tells me the same thing I told him. I hug it and it says "I love you" using his voice. I throw my head back in laughter, "are we really that cheesy?" He laughs with me, "it seems so." "This is amazing," I squeeze it to my chest, causing it to say I love you again, "and I love you." He smiles, "I love you too, but you haven't finished opening your gift yet." I look at him confusion, "what do you mean?" "Look in the box," he says cryptically. I look in the box to see a small velvet strawberry sitting at the bottom.

I pull it out of the box and see that it actually opens up. I look at him in excitement and he nods his head for me to open the strawberry. I open to see a beautiful emerald Claddagh ring inside. "Oh, Chase," I smile, "it's beautiful." "Take it out," he instructs. I take it out and see the engraving on the inside of the band, loved you from the start.

I start crying tears of joy, "this is beautiful, Chase. I love it." He smiles at me and rubs the tears away from my eyes and off of my cheeks, "I wanted to get you a promise ring to show you that I'm committed to you, I only want you, y/n. There's no one else for me, and I can only hope to be good enough to deserve you." I smile and push my head into his hand, "I don't deserve you." "Here, let me put it on," he takes the ring out of my hands and gently grasps my left hand and slides it onto my ring finger. I smile down at it before lightly kissing him, "thank you, I love it." He smiles, "I'm glad." After a few moments, he sighs, "there's something I have to tell you." My heart stops at the next words that come out of his mouth.
