This chapter will be from Chase's point of view!
"And she didn't even want to talk to me. It was like one second she was fine and then the next she needed space," I tell Payton.
"She said she needed space?" He asks from the other end of the call.
"Yeah, and I don't know what to do, Payton. I love her and I feel bad that I didn't think she'd want to go."
"Listen, just because it was agreed that school dances are stupid, doesn't mean she doesn't want to go. She's been in love with you for two years, she's probably imagined how you'd ask her over a thousand times by now. You couldn't have known, simple as that." I can almost picture him shrugging as he said that.
"Ugh," I groan, "I'm such an idiot! I screwed up, bad."
"She asked for space, right? Just give her space for you. She's hurt at the moment, but it doesn't mean you're over."
"How long should I give her space?"
"A few days, just don't message or call her. Don't push her into getting back together or hanging out."
"I want to make her happy, I want to take her to homecoming, but she'll never go with me now." I run my hand across my face out of frustration.
"If you want to take her, you're going to have to come up with a plan. A damn good one too, if you want her to say yes and with you in just over a week."
"I know. I might have an idea." I hang up and start writing down my ideas on how to get her to say yes.
