My phone buzzes with a text as I make my way downstairs for dinner after using concealer to hide the hickey on my neck:

Chase
Do your parents think you're going to school tomorrow?

Me
Not yet, I was going to tell them at dinner...

Chase
Don't

Me
Why?

Chase
We're going shopping tomorrow

Me
You realize we can just do that over the weekend, right?

Chase
We have other plans over the weekend

Me
Okayyy?

He doesn't reply right away so I sit down at the dining room table, where my parents were already waiting for me.
"What did you do today?" Mom asks me as she hands me a plate.
"Not much, just laid in bed most of the day." I shrug.
"Chase tried to have me leave the door open for him today for when he got home from school," she says, "but I told him it was better if he just gave you the space you wanted for now."
"Thanks, mom," I smile, knowing that she got compelled to do it anyway.
"Have you made up with him yet? It's a shame that you guys just started going out and you're already fighting."
"We're not fighting, mom. It was just a misunderstanding that I'm pretty sure I blew out of proportion."
"I'm sure you guys will work through it," dad chimes in.  "Still not going to school tomorrow?"
"No," I shake my head, "if that's okay?"
"Of course, sweetheart," my mom says earnestly, "take all the time you need."
"I should be okay to go back Monday," I shrug.
"Whatever you want to do."

"I really need to get a key to your house so I don't have to keep compelling your mom to leave the door unlocked," Chase says as he watches me try to find an outfit to wear so we can go shopping.
"We can get you one today," I say as I slide another set of hangers out of my way. "I have nothing to wear," I groan.
"Yeah, you do," he's in front of me now, holding out a shirt. I take the shirt from him and he plucks out a pair of black leggings from my closet.
"Um, thanks?" I raise an eyebrow before walking around him to go to the bathroom and change.
In the bathroom, I unravel the shirt to see it's his favorite Squirtle hoodie.

I smile to myself as I pull it on over my head and slide into my leggings

I smile to myself as I pull it on over my head and slide into my leggings.
I pull the collar of the hoodie up to my nose and smell it to get a whiff of his cologne. I hope he realizes he's not getting this back.
"So what are we going shopping for?" I ask as I walk back into my room to see him sprawled out on my bed.
He looks up and his mouth drops a little, "uh, wow."
"What?" I smile shyly.
"You look... great."
"It's just a hoodie," I laugh.
"You make it look good," he smiles.
I blush, "thanks."
He makes grabby hands at me.
"I thought you said we were going shopping," I put a hand on my hip and point at him with my other hand, "that does not look like shopping."
He sticks his button lip out in a pout and makes more grabby hands.
I laugh before slowly walking over to the bed and sitting down next to him.
He wraps his arms around me and pulls me into his side, my head lying on his chest right above his heart.
I sigh, "so what are we supposed to go shopping for?" I ask for the second time.
He rolls over and burrows his head into the crook of my neck.
"Homecoming stuff," he mumbles into my neck before littering it with kisses. He works his way up to my mouth, where he presses his lips to mine in a long kiss. He pulls away and gently pecks my nose before laying back down.
"We should probably get going," I laugh.
"Probably."
Neither one of us makes a move to get up.
I get up and hold my hands out to him, "come on."
He puts his hands in mine and I pull him up, off of the bed.
"Let's go before we never leave." I pull him behind me as I walk down the stairs.
"Ugh, you're so bossy," he groans playfully.
"Nah, I'm just the boss," I look back at him and wink playfully.
He laughs, "you wish."
I stop mid stride and turn back to face him, "I'm pretty sure I can make you do just about anything I want."
"Oh yeah?" He raises an eyebrow challengingly.
"Yeah," I nod with a smirk.
"Like to see you try," he smirks back.
"Oh, you will. And I'll win," I laugh.
