I frowned as Sebastian smiled triumphantly at me before going to Ceil who looked like he was in a trance. I wasn't too worried that he was suffering from the curse, more like he was dealing with the whispers of his demon.
I decided not to dwell on him, Sebastian would make sure he's alright. Instead, I wiped the dripping blood from my face and looked down at my ankles. I expected to see them scarred or bleeding for a moment, forgetting the chains around me where a figment of my imagination.
'You'd burn this whole world just to say you were queen of the ashes!'
Their words rang in my head, it wasn't the first time I'd heard them. I knew what I was, I knew what I'd done, and, even more terrifying, I knew what I'd do to keep the name queen.
"Enough." Ceil grimaced, tightening his fists around his clothes. "Enough, from the both of you!"
I merely blinked. "What did I do?"
Ceil looked to be ready to beat me to the ground when that damn children's song started up again. My skin crawled as the door burst open, revealing the army of child dolls entering. I cocked my head to the side, it seems Grell wasn't as good as he used to be.
Sebastian sighed, pushing himself in front of Ceil and I as I glared. "I can-"
"Fire, go."
Ceil and Sebastian looked at me fearfully as I closed my palm and the fire blast that was released baked those creepy ass dolls back to the hell. The ones made of straw burned away quickly while the metal ones bended and twisted under the flame, eventually sputtering to a stop.
"All powerful." I smiled at the both of them. "Remember?"
"You have blood dripping from your nose."
I glared at the little noble brat and wiped away at the blood as he went on devising his plan. I was more than content to stay to the shadows when Sebastian handed me his handkerchief.
"You're the only creature alive that's as reckless as you are without dying." He sighed, taking the handkerchief and wiping at my face since I was making a bigger mess. "You look frightening."
I flicked my hand and the blood disappeared. Sebastian just sighed and pocketed his little fabric as Ceil turned to us.
"We still need to find Elizabeth." Ceil spoke, looking like a proud little man.
"Yes, young master."
"Dammit Michaelis!"
I watched as Sebastian in one fluid motion yanked Ceil away and went crashing through the window. That left me to go chasing after the two of them, diving from our high height and enjoying the weightlessness of the fall.
The wind whipped against me as I fell and I sighed contently. It was always freeing to go cascading towards the ground, not a thought of the world as my mind finally went silent.
Then I hit the ground.
"And she sticks the landing!" I cheered, summersaulting as I touched the ground and doing a flip as Sebastian and Ceil were bickering. "And the crowd goes wild!"
I turned just in time to see Ceil Phantomhive slap the ever loving shit out of Sebastian Michaelis.
I frowned. "Was no one watching?"
"You stupid demon!" Ceil was screaming as Sebastian's face was red with anger. "I ordered you to help me find Lizzie! You dare to disobey my orders you damn servant."
My ears perked. "If Sebastian did disobey orders, it violates the contract ya know, and if the contract is violated..."
My claws sprang from my hands and my eyes went blood red as my demon side was threatening to burst forth. No matter how pissed Ceil was with Sebastian, he knew he had a better bet with him. Was that demon idiot ever to break his contract, it would free both him and I from our duties and allow me to kill the both of them.
