'Why do I have to be here?'

I was currently stuck in a room with a bunch of other English noblemen while the other three useless servants were catching mice in the hallway. I told Ceil that as much as I enjoyed listening to the mindless babble of noblemen whose names I didn't care to learn, I was requesting to go catch mice instead. He told me to shut up and stand in the corner.

The house randomly shook and I slid my gaze over to the door. The rat chasing had been going for two days so I knew sure enough the loud shaking was probably Finny and his makeshift 'ammunition'. Yesterday I spent two hours picking up the pieces of a shattered vase by hand because Finny saw a mouse.

"Other there's another one!" I rolled my eyes as I heard the muffled voice of Finny cry out.

"Don't let it get away!"

A few of the nobles had decided to start up a game of pool that was only mildly interesting so I only mildly paid attention. It was easier for me to get lost in my thoughts or let my mind drift to the queenly matters I would have to deal with on my downtime.

"Quite the commotion out there!" A man, Lord Randall I think, finally spoke. The room was obviously uncomfortable with the break of silence, either he was incredibly stupid or incredibly brave for speaking. "It seems you have rats here as well."

A chubby (and that's being generous) nobleman spoke, chomping on a sandwich, "The vermin are terrible! They forage through our pantries and do nothing but spread disease!"

They went on and on talking about the rats and eventually I got the message that they were talking about a different kind of rat. I lost interest about three seconds after they started talking. If Ceil needed me to do something later concerning a 'rat' then he could tell me straightforward.

"The key to the storehouse is in my hands."

The only reason I even caught the end of what Ceil was saying was because I saw a man with a scar on his face glare fiercely at Ceil. I studied the man for a moment before shifting my gaze as he caught my eye. Immediately he changed his face but I merely shrugged and looked away. As long as he didn't cause me trouble, I wouldn't cause him any.

"However, it will require a certain amount of effort," Ceil announced suddenly as I looked at him, "to find the rat's nest and exterminate them. What say you prepare a suitable reward?"

"So how in Heaven, Hell, and Earth did the hallway END UP LIKE THIS?"

I resisted every urge in the world to flick my hand and use my power to reduce the sniffling servants to worms. The entire hallway was destroyed with cracks in both the wall and floorboards. A shattered statue was in pieces around me and my eyebrow twitched at the sight of Finny in a cat costume.

"We're sorry!" They wailed as I looked at all the damage Sebastian was in no doubt going to make me fix.

"Honestly my chores would go so much faster if he would let me use my powers to get them finished!"

Pretty soon into my time here, both Sebastian and Ceil explained that I would have to carry out my tasks without using my demonic powers to get them done. This severely impacted my working schedule of getting a list of chores, using my power to get them finished in ten seconds, then pissing off for the rest of the day. Of course I didn't immediately stop using my powers and my punishment was that Sebastian had to tail me every second for a week straight to ensure I wasn't using my powers. I got to the third day before I broke down and begged Ceil to make it stop.

"Um, Miss Alexandra?" I came to and saw Finny staring up at me with wide eyes, I had a bad habit of spacing out.

I was about to say something else when I heard the faintest whisper.
