Lynn
"Why did I allow you to talk me into a blind date?" I asked as we sat at the table in the park.
"Well technically it's not a blind date. A small picnic is more like it." Eric said with a smile and I just rolled my eyes. I knew what it was.
"Or you can call it a double date." Jessica said also smiling. It's been nearly three years since I last dated someone and Eric and his wife took it upon themselves to try to set me up. I wasn't one for blind dates. I hated them in fact. I preferred to know the person I was going on a date with. I wasn't even sure that I was ready to date yet. Why did I really allow them to talk me into this? Letting out an annoyed breath I said.
"You know what, I'm going to try this but the second that I feel it's going down hill I'm making an excuse to leave." I said feeling the urge to get up and leave right now.
"Relax, she's my friend. My best friend. She's a really cool person and like you she doesn't care for blind dates either but I promised her that you were a cool person also. Which you are. Except for that time when you was kissing all over my husband. I wanted to wring your neck then." I gave a sheepish grin. I had apologised for that. I only had done it because I was hurt and helping Eric out. Eric and I were both hurt by our their significant other at the time. The thought of Dawn brought a frown to my face. I still thought of her from time to time. Even thought about calling her at times but the fear of being hurt by her again prevented me from doing so. Maybe this date wouldn't be so bad after all.
"You promised that we were going to move on from that." Eric said as he gave his wife the you promised look.
"Hey I can't help it sometimes. But I knew it was all a front." Doesn't mean it still didn't hurt. She thought to herself. "Maybe I'd get over it faster if you weren't so damn pretty." She said to me making me blush.
"Well thank you for the compliment." I said.
"It wasn't suppose to be a compliment." Jessica said laughing. "Well if it means anything my friend is very beautiful. If I were gay I'd definitely bang her." Eric looked at his wife in shock and I chuckled.
"Well I think I'm more excited to meet this women now."
"She's late." Jessica checked the time on her phone. Her friend was nearly fifteen minutes late. "She's making me look like an idiot. Got us out here waiting for her. I'm about to eat without her." Jessica ranted. "My baby make some banging fried chicken, don't you babe?" She looked over at her husband.
"I'm still stuck on the part where you said you would bang your friend. Have you ever thought about..."
"No I ain't never thought about having no damn threesome." She cut off.
"Just a thought" I chuckled. Those two were definitely entertainment whenever I was around them.
Jessica looked when a car pulled up."She's finally here." She begin making her way to her friend. I suddenly grew nervous again. What have I gotten myself into? I thought to myself. Well Jessica did say that she was beautiful. Maybe that would help this date go by faster. I looked at the women as she made her way towards us. My heart skipped as the women got closer and recognization set in. This was crazy. The women stopped and stared but quickly recovered and fell into step with her friend again but couldn't stop the smile that appeared on her face.
