"So, how is the relationship going?" I was having lunch with my cousin Amber.
"Good so far I guess."
"You guess?" Sighing I decided to tell her what was going on.
"You mean to tell me that you're cool with your girlfriend going to see her ex?"
"Of course not but she's sick and how Lynn is she feels sorry for the woman. I mean I'm not a monster I feel sorry for her also but the thought of Dawn coming onto her makes me mad."
"I hear you cuz. I'd feel the same way. I mean only because I know how it works on the other end."
"What do you mean?"
"You know how many of my ex's I banged over the years even when they were in a relationship with other people? It didn't take much effort either."
"Well thanks for easing my mind." I said sarcastically.
"I'm just saying. You two are just starting out. What you've been dating for like two months? That's not long enough to be concrete. When she tells you that she loves you then you have her but until then you still have a chance at losing her. And cuz Lynn is fuckin beautiful. Her ex will try something with her. Trust me."
"She says that she will never cheat on me."
"When you're in that moment then shit happens." Amber said with a hunch of her shoulders. "I'm not saying that she would but there is a possibility." I sighed.
"You're not easing my mind at all Am. What do you think I should do?"
"I don't know." She said with a hunch of her shoulders. "Make her fall in love with you."
"But how? You know my fuckin relationships suck."
"Ah...oh. She loves kids right?"
"Okay?"
"So we have a whole lot of fuckin kids in our family. You know your mom be turning up fourth of july week. Take her to meet the family." A smile slowly crept on my face.
"You just might be onto something."
"Once she see how close our family is she just might fall for you."
"Okay I'm gone try that. Hopefully she's free from work then."
Lynn
I picked up my phone when I seen Tammis name.
"Hello Beautiful."
"Hey yourself. Just calling to see if you wanted to do lunch."
"Today?" I asked as I looked across the table at Dawn. I was already at Dawn's house eating lunch.
"Yes today. I mean if you're busy then we can do it some other day."
"Yes I'm busy. I'm sorry."
"No need to be sorry. I'll talk to you later then."
"Does she know you're over here?" Dawn asked after I hung up."
"No she'd catch an attitude if she knew I was here."
"Why?"
"You're my ex. She's a jealous person. I can't say I blame her though."
"Same here. I'd be jealous as hell if I knew you were at your ex's place."
"It's not like we're having sex though."
