Tammi“Good morning!”
“Look at you coming in all perky.” My mom said. She was glad to see Lynn trotting in right beside me. We both looked happy witch made her assume that we were back on good terms. That was good.
“You two okay?” She asked needing to know for sure.
“Yeah we're okay mom.” I said and she gave a nod.
“Is Amber here?”
“Not yet. She wouldn't be coming if I told her that David was on his way also.” I sighed.
“He only comes when he knows either me or Amber is coming.” I said getting distressed.
“You can't allow anyone like that to get to you. People who is set out to hurt others have demons dangling over them and they want others to feel miserable like them.” Lynn said. “And he has really bad demons if he's set out to hurt his own family. The best thing to do is ignore him. He'll leave when he doesn't get what he wants.”
“Sounds like you're speaking from experience.” Lillian said.
“Something like that.” Lynn said with a hunch of her shoulders.
LynnThe thought of my aunt came to mind. The only time that woman would stop ranting on about how I was a bad person and how lazy I was was when I learned to ignore her completely. Even when I apologized to her the woman seemed to egg on so I learned to be quiet all together. It seemed to work most of the time.
“So are we still on for our date tonight?” Tammi asked shyly.
“Of course we are beautiful.”
“Cool.” I watched Tammi for a minute. How could she be so excited about a date? She looked like a innocent little girl that was going on her first date. Anyhow, I planned on showing her a good time.
“My son took your phone again?” Nella asked as she looked down at me.
“It's all good. In fact I bought it over just for him to play. He is fine.”
“Warning! If he breaks it I have no money to replace it.” Nella said making me laugh.
“I'll take that warning.”
“Glad we're on the same page.”
“Yo yo yo what's up family.” Amber said loudly as she entered the kitchen.
“Hi loud ass.” Tammi said.
“I loved attention what can I say. Oh heres a crazy thought. Why the hell we always in the kitchen?” Everyone burst out laughing. That was so true we were always in the kirchen.
“Cause we black and all we do is eat.” Tammi answered.
“Right.” Amber agreed.
“Speaking of food. You throwing down on the grill today?”
“You know it. Auntie already asked me.” She then gave her attention to me.
“We good right?”
“Of course we are.”
“Damn. I was hoping to steal you away from Tammi.” She joked.
“That shit wasn't funny Amber.” Tammi said shaking her head.
“Too far? So the hell what. Now let's eat.”
“I fuckin hate you.” Tammi said laughing.
