Diana

I was excited to see my mom. I couldn't stop thinking about her since the day I left her. I knew she would be excited to see Lynn also. We had rented a car and made our way there. Lynn was driving. She made all the stops and turns as if she never left.

"Remember I taught you how to drive?" I said reminiscing. She smiled.

"Yeah. It took me no time to learn how to drive better then you."

"Yeah right, you can't drive better then me." She laughed.

"Okay keep telling yaself that." I watched as she took a deep breath as she parked in my mothers driveway. She kept her head straight as we walked to the front door. My guess was that she was afraid to look in the direction of her aunts house. I felt so bad with what she been through as a kid. She stood off to the side so when my mom opened the door she wouldn't be able to see her. I knocked and a minute later my mom opened the door. She looked surprised to see me witch I can understand since I didn't tell her that I was coming.

"Diana what are you doing here?"

"I came to see you. And guess who else came?" Lynn appeared and her eyes shot opened in shock.

"Lynn..." She went and hugged Lynn tight and Lynn returned the favor. They hugged so long that I had to squeeze by to get inside after a minute. I looked at Lynn to find her crying. My mom pulled away from her looking at her face. "Don't cry sweetie." She hugged her again and Lynn sobbed. Damn near had me in my own tears. "Stop before you make me cry to." My mom said as she wipped her own tears. We made our way into the livingroom as Lynn wipped at her face. We sat across from my mom and I rubbed her back.

"How have you been sweetie?"

"Good." Lynn said still wipping at her eyes because they wouldn't stop flowing of tears. When they finally stopped she looked at my mom smiling.

"It's been so long."

"I'm sorry. It's just...I let my fear get the best of me."

"I understand sweetie."

"How have you been?"

"Asuming Diana told you about my cancer..." her tears begin flowing again. She couldn't control it. "Stop. You're hurting my heart Lynn. Stop crying." My mom said as she wipped at her fresh tears also.

"I'm sorry. I need a minute." She said as she stood making her way to the bathroom. She hated crying in front of people. I heard as the sink water came on. She was trying to drown out her sobs. I knew she would be upset but I didn't expect this kind of reaction. She was usually great at controlling her emotions but not this time. A few minutes later she came back tears where gone but her eyes were red. My heart went out to her. She took a deep breath after she reclaimed her seat. "So you coming back with us?" She asked and we laughed.

"You sound just like Diana."

"I have my own house. Diana has her own house. We have more then enough room."

"I'm still independent y'all. I can't be relying on my two girls to take care of me. Besides I have an aid that comes to help me around the house. Although I'm not handicap. He fine though." I shook my head. My mom was too much.
