Tammi

I woke to a headache. When recognition came I sat straight up.

"Be careful honey." One of the nurses said as she placed a hand on my shoulder.

"My girlfriend..."

"I'm sorry honey..." I begin to cry before she could finish.

"Please don't tell me she's dead. Please."

"She's in a coma. It's not looking good." I cried harder. Why was this happening? I pulled the sheet off me and swung my legs over ready to stand. "You need to rest."

"I need to go see my girlfriend."

"Mrs..."

"I'm going to see her and no one is stopping me." I stood greatful they didn't strip me of my clothes. I slid on my sneakers and walked out. I made my way to ICU. She was in the same room. The tears fell uncontrollably. I went to her and I broke down. "Lynn." I sobbed. I couldn't stop. "I'm so sorry." I knelt down kissing the back of her hand. "Please baby come back to me. Please." I sobbed. I sat in the chair closes to her for hours. It was dark by the time a nurse came in and told me I had to leave and to come back in the morning if I wanted to see her. I had to work in the morning but I would be in the same building as her so I would check in on her as often as I could.

Diana

"What's wrong?" Dawn asked me as we lay in bed. I couldn't get out my head the fact that Lynn was in a coma and it was all my fault. Tears slid down my face.

"This is your fourth time crying today. Tell me what's wrong?"

"I'm just stupid."

"Your not. Can you talk to me?"

"I done something fucked up. I don't know if I'll be able to reverse it."

"Must be terrible. What was it?"

"I don't want to worry you Dawn. Please let's just drop it."

"Well at least tell me how was Lynn when you went to go see her." I haven't told her what happened to Lynn. I didn't want her stressing about it. Stressing with her cancer was no good. I made note to call my mother when I got the chance. "Diana..." I couldn't lie to her.

"Lynn is in the hospital." I begin to sob.

"What? What happened?" She asked as she sat up. "She drank herself into a coma."

"What? And you're just now telling me this?"

"It's not good for you to stress."

"And Lynn is in the hospital. I need to go see her."

"You need to relax." She huffed as she slid out of bed and begin to get dress.

"This isn't good for you."

"I'm going to go see Lynn and nothing you say will stop me."

"Dawn..."

"When you weren't here Lynn helped me. She helped me get threw my pains. I was able to lean on her even though I did her so wrong when we were together. And when I needed her she still helped me. She overlooked what I did and she made sure I got to my appointments and she made sure I ate. I leaned on her and now she needs me to and I'm going to be there for her." She grabbed her keys. "I'll be back."
