You were flopped on the back of (Aether/Kaeya/Diluc), playing with the checkered scarf that was still around your neck.
"He is the leader of a pranking group that swore on no violence..." You started reminiscing outloud and only semi-unknowingly to break the silence while everyone around you listened.
"He promised me that as soon as we left, together, that he would make me his second in command. I had just left my parents, and his group was made of kids who did the same or were abandoned." You smiled gently at the thought, slowly misguiding them from the truth.
"We all were granted titles then. I was known as the Ultimate Singer, while he was the Ultimate Supreme Leader. An ominous title that didn't explain much, yes, but that was him. He never shared anything personal to anyone except for me, even in the group."
You took a deep breath. "One thing I will always give him credit for is how logical he was. He planned to the very last detail." You said. Which made them furrow their brows at how he had hurt you. But they also knew they didn't want to talk about it, so they switched the subject.
"And how did they grant you the title of Ultimate Singer? Like, what was the criteria?" Asked Kaeya, really curious.
"There's only two," you said- for once being completely honest. "You have to be the very best at what you did and be a certain age." Though that didn't stop you from twisting some facts; they didn't have high schools here.
"That's it? How could they choose that?" Diluc asked- it sounded curt, but upon inspection of his tone, he was curious.
"Diluc, that's a pretty foolhardy question. The answer is simple. Achievements. If you didn't have any, you weren't considered, simple as that. If there wasn't one thing written about your work, you're not getting picked. Though there is one exception, and it's pretty ridiculous in my opinion."
Aether piped in "Well, it sounds really interesting, so what is it?" He asked for both him and Paimon since Paimon couldn't be bothered to ask anything.
You sighed. "The group that gave the titles also hosted a lottery. If you were picked, any normal person was instantly transformed into the Ultimate Luck."
They all blinked. "...Paimon thinks that is a really cheap way of getting a title." Paimon wondered out loud.
You nodded. "Yea. My group didn't have any, but I've heard of some interesting cases actually. Like, there was one who constantly had a cycle of good luck and bad luck and another who had good luck only when he was in danger. Oh look, we're here." You ended your analysis of lucky students as the 5 of you stopped at the door.
Aether turned to you. "So that means we're both from different worlds!" He cheered and gripped your hands once you were lowered from the back of whoever was carrying you. He was so happy that he met someone like him.
You cracked a smile, "I guess so! Hey Aether, wanna be my bestie? We can wander together!"
"Uh, sure! Know any traveling songs that we can do?"
"My other friend was very much into traveling too, so he taught me tons! Well, traveling cuz he was looking for his bazillion sisters."
They all chuckled. "How does that even work?" Aether asked.
"Okay so, he went sailing abroad with one of his sisters then lost her while abroad, he spent a while looking for her before taking another sister with him to look for the initial sister. Rinse and repeat that 11 times."
You sighed and fiddled with your hands. "His parents think that they're all dead, but he doesn't give up the hope that they're all waiting for him. I remember going on a voyage with him and one of his sisters, and he really did do the best he could." Taking a breath, you decided to tell them all that he did. It wouldn't do to tell them the tale of an ignorant Rantaro.
