"Lillith. I left because I had no one at home after Eda left." I sat down on my bed. Not taking my eyes off Lillith for even a moment. How could I possibly trust her anymore?

Lillith's expression changed to one of complete betrayal. "But Y/n you had not only me but mom as well!"

Lillith is always like this. Trying to justify her actions or pretend that they weren't that bad. All it did was cause me anger.

"Were you Lillith!? We're you!?" I stood up stepping towards the taller blue-haired lady.

She was taken aback by my lash out towards her. This is the first time in a while I've let Lillith of all people get under my skin.

She always does this so easily. It's as if she knew exactly how to make me so mad that the elixir and just barely help me now.

"Eda was the only one that truly cared for me back home!" Lillith looked at me as if I was speaking a completely different language.

"But Y/n... Edaline was hardly ever home. How could she have been there for you more than Mom and me?" Lillith's gaze aims towards the ground.

"If you and Mom were there for me you would have realized that the only time, I was ever home was if Eda was there too!" I got up into Lillith's face. I started talking with my hands along with me yelling.

Slapping my hands together with certain words, until my hands began to turn red. The next thing I knew why eyes we beginning to water.

"Mom and I only wanted what was best for you Y/n." Lillith's gaze moves up slowly toward me. An expression of utter annoyance appeared on her face as she did so.

"What was best for me?" My tone started too slowly. Barely even able to be heard, but still noticeable. My arms fell weak at my sides, and my hand and gaze aimed at the ground in front of my feet.

A smirk as if Lillith thought she won was fighting its way onto her face. When I glanced up at her face, I noticed the corners of her mouth wiggling and shifting. Trying to hide that she was fighting all of the muscles in her face and the thoughts of rubbing it in my face.

I ever so slowly looked up at Lillith. She was quick to change her look to one of sympathy with a soft - fake - smile. I've learned not to trust anything Lillith says or does anymore.

"Come home. Mom misses you. I miss you!" Listening to her speak triggered memories of my past living at home. At that moment I remembered exactly why I don't trust anything Lillith says anymore.

Not a word that which Lillith said was true. "Lillith. The last time I was at the house. Mother and you were shoving the idea of joining the emperor's coven down my throat!"

I clenched my fists, my gaze returning to the ground. Lillith put her hand under my chin. She lifted my head so I would look at her.

"Well, I mean you did join it...." Lillith smiled at me softly. I pushed her arm away from me.

"Don't touch me. I only joined because it would allow me to keep all of my magic and not limit myself. God forbid I be a wild witch like Eda. I would never hear the end of it from you or Mother." I rolled my eyes, walking straight for the door.

Right as I opened the door Hunter ran in knocking the two of us to the ground. At some point during the fall, Hunter grabbed me and flipped us so he would be the one to land on the ground.

His arms wrapped around me. "Uhm... Hunter?" I finally managed to speak up after we lay there on the ground for a few moments.

"Oh right! Sorry" Hunter's grip on me released. I stood up and recollected myself.

Hunter stood up as well. He walked in front of me to separate Lillith and me.

"I think it's time for you to go, Lillith." Hunter crossed his arms. A look of annoyance painted his face.

"And why should I do that? Y/n and I were in the middle of a conversation on why she disappeared for YEARS!" Lillith held eye contact with Hunter. It makes me wonder if face-offs like these are common for the two of them.

"

Are you testing my authority, Lillith? I wouldn't recommend doing that considering I could easily make your time in the Coven a living hell." Hunter stepped forward. His arms crossed. His face inches away from Lilliths.

I could tell that Hunter's comment annoyed Lillith. Her fists were clenched. Her left eye twitched.

Silence fell upon the room for some time. It took Lillith a few minutes to realize Hunter wasn't joking. He was fully prepared to ruin everything she'd built in this Coven.

Lillith closed her eyes for an open. She faked a smile and spoke "Of course, Golden guard. I'll be on my way."

Lillith leaves our room livid. Possibly even planning revenge against Hunter.

I couldn't hold it back anymore. I started laughing, it caught Hunter's attention. Snapping him out of his anger and watching me in confusion.

"What are you laughing at?" Hunter lifted an eyebrow. "It's just that, Lillith has never had her authority challenged like that," I said through my laughter.

"I know she's livid. Especially since she knows that she can't do anything against you" It might just been the tears forming in my eyes from laughing, but I could have sworn I saw Hunter smiling as he watched me.

A few moments of me laughing passed. I started to recollect myself. I pulled myself up onto the bed. "Seriously though, thank you, Hunter"

No problem, it was about time someone put her in her place anyway" Hunter smirked, crossed his arms, and looked at the door.
