The Two sides

|Chapter 28|

"Are we sure that it was Lilith that cursed me?" I hesitated to ask Eda, "who else could get into the house during the night without Dad, mom, OR Lilith noticing first?" Eda said she was trying to keep me from thinking it was anyone else.

"That's true, I'm glad I have someone else with a curse similar to mine that can help me keep the curse under control," I said with a soft smile "Wanna continue telling me about what happened, or wait for another time?" 

"We can continue" I looked back at the floor trying to avoid eye contact and remember what had happened. "After the conversation with Lilith, the scene changed again and I was in the palace."

"In the palace? What about this scene was so important?" I think Eda is starting to understand what this fainting thing could have been if it wasn't for the curse. 

"Besides it being the first time I ever went to the palace I have no idea." I was thinking back to what had happened in this part and remembered what I saw. "Wait..." I looked over at Eda as I felt my face slightly heat up.

"I was walking beside myself from that time, and since I had time ACTUALLY to look around this time... I saw a blonde boy watching me from the corner." I said as I glanced back at Eda "Did you recognize this boy?" Eda asked me, trying to figure out who she thinks the boy was right.

"It was Hunter... that was the first time I ever saw Hunter and the reason I recognized him when belos partnered me with him as his stupid bodyguard." I scoffed as I put my hands over my face 'Hunter did look cute back then, he looked so innocent' I thought to myself as a smile crept onto my face.

"Was that where it ended?" Eda put her hand on my knee. "No, when the other me turned the corner I stayed with Hunter and watched as he followed me around the corner. I don't think I ever noticed him following me before this. Do you think this whole thing was just trying to tell me something?" I looked back at Eda, maybe I'm right about this.

"I mean it's possible but... someone would have had to cause this to happen. Like when Hooty gave me the cookies with Sleeping nettles which caused my curse and I to agree. But Luz said that Hunter made the food and you assisted in most of it. So you would have known if something was put in it." Eda said as she stood up starting to pace in front of me.

"Thats true..." I groaned and leaned back on the bed. "I need to know, Did ANYTHING else happen?" Eda stopped pacing right in front of me trying to put the pieces together.

I think back to what all happened and shook my head at Eda "Me and Hunter were about to turn the corner when the other me turned and then everything went black. I woke in the kitchen in hunter's lap" I said as I stood up to open the curtain since my migraine was now gone.

"Well, I've been trying to think about what this could mean. The only thing I'm able to come up with is either Hunter added something when you weren't looking or..." Eda cut herself off. I turned to look at Eda, trying to figure out why she stopped talking "Or...?" I repeated trying to get an answer out of her.

"Or... Emperor Belos found a way to trigger these memories..." Eda said as she looked over at me looking a little unsettled. "I doubt it, barely no one knows that this cabin even exists nor is it easy to get to." I was trying to lighten the mood by assuring her that isn't what happened.

"Right, your right. Maybe Hunter accidentally grabbed the wrong seasoning to put into the food." Eda said trying to chill her nerves. I smiled at her and walked over to the door "Want to go ask him or even look in the kitchen to see if there's anything that could have caused the memories."

"You ask, I'll look?" Eda said with a slight smirk on her face as she started walking over. "Figured it was gonna be that way Since we both know that you don't fully trust him," I said teasing Eda as I opened the door and rushed down the stairs laughing.

"Ugh! Rude!" Eda yelled with a smile as she rolled the R, and chanced after me. While still making sure to be careful on the stairs "I guess your conversation went well then?" Luz said as she watched me and Eda joke around like we used to.

"It's not like it was a pep talk or anything!" I said while running around the island trying to keep away from Eda. "Exactly I was just trying to figure out what happened while she was unconscious, and since she had a killer migraine I took her into the room upstairs where the curtains could be closed."

Eda was trying to juke me out by quickly changing directions while running around the island. "Well, did you figure out what caused it?" Hunter looked over at us with a slightly concerned look on his face.

"Well, the only thing I could think of was maybe Sleeping Nettles were accidentally put into the food to trigger the curse like when Hooty gave me those cookies. But considering that neither you nor Luz fell asleep either they would have had to be out into just hers, or that's not what caused it." Eda stopped trying to get me and faced the two that are sitting in the living room. 

"I didn't add anything to the food besides a little bit of salt," Hunter said as he looked at Eda. I looked over at Eda, wondering if she was going to tell them about the other option she conjured up in that mind of hers.

"there was another idea I had but I doubt it is even possible..." Eda was silent for a while before saying this. 'There it is' I thought to myself as I slowly nod, my mouth making a line on my face. "What was the idea?" Luz shifted on the couch uneasily "...Maybe Belos, found a way to force it. But what doesn't make sense is the fact that [Y/n] doesn't have a sigil and no one besides the people in this room and the bat queen of course, know where this cabin is"

"Thats true, but... I wouldn't be surprised if he did still have something to do with this. For all... we know maybe because I have a sigil he got to her..." Hunter mumbled the last part to himself and moved his hand to trace over the sigil.

"He can't effect others through someone else's sigil, trust me I would be the first person to have learned that!" Eda said while doing her classic snort-laugh. "She has a fair point, Eda doesn't have a sigil either and has been around several people with them. So if he could do something like that, he would have done it to her by now."

When I finished talking I looked at Luz who was nodding her head in agreement. "You don't have to worry Hunter, He can't use you to get to me with that sigil." I said with a soft smile while switching my gaze to Hunter instead. He looked over at me without moving his hand off of the sigil, I saw his shoulders ease like he wasn't as worried because of my remark.

A/n - Hey Hey Hey! I regret to inform you all that I will most likely be taking a break from writing this story to work on a different xReader story for another fandom. I know I rarely post these chapters as is, but that's because I haven't been able to have time to write this story and when I do get time the only thing on my mind is the other story I want to start writing. So I wanted to let you all know it might be a while before chapter 29 of this story is posted so you weren't waiting for it to come in like a week or so. Hope you all enjoy this chapter and I'm sorry but I need to work on this other story so I'll be able to continue this one! Love you guys and thank you so much for the support. <3
