(The next morning | Y/n's P.O.V)

I was woken up by a beam of light being cast into my room. Straight into my eyes. I sat up seeing an empty, made, and untouched bed in front of me. The desk that was a complete mess just the night before was empty. Except for a single piece of paper lying on it.

I walked over to the desk, picked up the piece of paper, and reading the paper;

Dear Y/n,

I was called to meet with Uncle Belos. He told me to make sure you weren't brought along with me, or I would have woken you up. Uncle assigned me to a mission, apparently it's to prove that I can handle missions without you. I stopped by to write a note letting you know where I was in case you were worried. I was able to talk my Uncle into allowing you to leave the palace as a day off of sorts considering you'd end up being there alone till I return late tonight. So I hope you have fun on your "Day off", do whatever it is you need or want to do today.

Love, Hunter.

I place the note back down on the table. I walked over and sat on my bed processing what I just read in Hunter's note. When I first got here Belos told me that I would be following Hunter, never to leave his side (With some exceptions of course).

But now he's testing Hunter to see if he still needs me without any heads-up. Would I have even been informed if it wasn't for hunters note? Also, why would Belos suddenly test Hunter? Is he planning to get rid of me at some point?

Suddenly a line from Hunter's note started to stick out over the rest. "So I hope you have fun on your "Day off", do whatever it is you need or want to do today." At first, I couldn't think of anything. A few moments later I knew what I wanted to do.

I got dressed, grabbed my staff, and walked to the main exit of the palace. I got on my staff and started flying towards the woods on the edge of the boiling Isles.

(Inside the woods | Y/n's POV)

I got off my staff and placed it in a bush, hidden from anyone who walked past. I can't risk anyone finding out I was here, nor where this place is in general. Once my broom was completely hidden. I walked towards the house at the end of the path.

I had a cloak on to hide who I was, in case I ran into a member of the Emperor's Coven. Once I was within 7 feet of the door an out-of-tune siren sounded. I continued to walk closer. The siren stopped and someone started talking. "Who goes there!" A high-pitched voice spoke.

"Hooty relax, just let me in," I said calmly. "Wait that voice..." Hooty spoke as if he couldn't believe what he had heard. Hooty started stretching, he went into the air and entered the house through a window at the very top. "Eda! You might want to see this!" I heard him shout.

I smirked and waited as I heard heels clicking against the wooden floors inside the house. Eda opened the door, looking at me confused. "Who are you, and how did you find my house?" She crossed her arms, leaning against the door frame.

I smiled, taking off my hood and looking up at Eda. "Hi, Eda. It's been a while" I spoke softly. Eda's eyes widened, and her crossed arms fell limp beside her. "There's no way you're standing outside of my door."

My smile dropped. Did she not want me here? Did I do something in the past that I don't remember? "What's wrong?" I was a little worried to hear her answer. "Mother and Lillith told me that Emperor Belso had you petrified. That he found out about your curse."
