The Two sides

|Chapter 29|

(A few hours later | Y/n's P.O.V)

Eda left about an hour ago to bring some more Elixirs back with her tomorrow, It's around 6:00 p.m. now, and Hunter, Luz, and I was on the couch watching stuff on the crystal ball.

Luz leaned forwards and turned the ball off, "Ughhh I'm so bored!" Luz leaned back against the couch, dragging her hands down her face. "Okay, then tell me all about your little crush on Amity." I looked over at luz.

Hunter's head hit my shoulder, he must have fallen asleep.

I glanced over at my shoulder to find a sleeping Hunter laying there. "Someone's tired huh?" I smiled and shifted his head into my lap. Hunter groaned and turned, facing the ceiling.

"Seems like it, but honestly I don't know if Amilty and I are the most interesting things happening at the moment," Luz smirked, shifting her position on the couch to face me. 

"You and that Hunter and I have something secretly going on don't you." I couldn't hold back my smile, Luz gave me a real questioning look. "You're telling me that smile, is supposed to tell me that nothing is going on? Like at all?!"

I felt my face heat up at the moment, "Ughhh I'm telling you! Nothing is going on besides what we talked about a few weeks ago!" 

"Mhm, there better not be, since you haven't told me anything about you two yet!" We both laughed "I've missed talking with you like this, after everything that's happened lately, we haven't had much time to catch up."

"Also doesn't help that every time we finally have the chance to talk, Hunter would steal you first." I side-eyed Luz with a somewhat serious look. "Ya know, we would have more time to talk if you didn't kick me out of sharing a room with you." Luz laughed nervously and scratched the back of her neck.

"Thats what I thought" I looked down at Hunter who was still asleep in my lap, I smiled, and started playing with his hair. "Anyways back to you and Amity." I glanced up at her without taking my hand away from Hunter's head.

"What about us?" Luz started going red, I smiled, seeing Luz like this isn't something that happens often. "Uhhh like, When and how did you start liking her?! The last time we talked you told me that y'all weren't friends."

Luzs' eyes got wide, her face turned a bright shade of red "About that... there was an incident at the library where I met her sibling. Then I saw a different side of her, I side where she was reading to children, a calm side."

Luz looked down, I'm assuming to think back to what happened. Though her smile was the widest I've ever seen when thinking of someone, even when she thinks of her mom. 

'She must really like Amity' I thought to myself, "So you happened to run into her at the library, and fell in love?" I teased her while trying to also understand what she was telling me.

"Well I mean it was exactly like that so to say" Luz was getting even redder, honestly I didn't even know it was possible. "Okay, then what exactly was it like then?"

Hunter shifted in my lap, I lifted my hand and switched my glances toward Hunter instead. I couldn't hold back the smile that was itching to crawl onto my face, I put my hand back onto Hunter's head and continued to play with his hair.

I looked back at Luz to see her with the most annoying look on her face, it was like she trying to say something without actually speaking.

"Shut up" I rolled my eyes at her with a slight smile, luz laughed at me. "I didn't say anything though~" Luz teased, I shook my head, "Didn't have to, just continue telling me about you're little crush for Amity!"

Luz coaked on her drink, "Slow down cowgirl! We don't have to talk about it if it's that annoying!" I joked with Luz since I knew it just caught her off guard.

Luz got red again, setting her drink down, and continued talking "After I saw her, she kinda got mad, I think. About her sibling teasing her because of leaving her lunch at home."

"Oh~, already meeting her family?! Dang girl!" I continued to tease her, Luz continued to get redder. "Do you wanna know the story or not!" Luz blurted out as she covered her cheeks with her forearm.

"Yes, yes continue!" I smiled, looking down at Hunter who was still asleep in my lap. "Anyways, Her sibling and I went back to the library later that night, and they didn't tell that the reason was because of them wanting to post her diary around the school to teach her a lesson for snitching on them to their mom" 

Luz stood up and started pacing in front of me in the living room, I smiled watching her "Then I tried to apologize and tried to tell her I was telling them it wasn't right, trying to hide it from them... but then she called me a bully"

Luz stopped pacing, I watched as she brought her hand to her chest and gripped her shirt, I could tell she was upset but when she started talking again she lightened up.

"But that's not the point, when I went after her I offered to give her my copy of the good witch azura book 5." she smiled, and a shade of pink crept onto her cheeks.

"She said that I may not be a bully and she doesn't quite know what I am yet. This means that she has been thinking about me, maybe she feels the same way that I do, right? or I might just be reading into it too much." 

Luz glanced over at me, I sighed and laughed to myself, "What's so funny!" Luz's face got as red as Eda's dress. "Nothing, It's just... You do care about Amity right?" 

Luz tilted her head in confusion, I glanced down at Hunter before I looked back at her with a fake smile. Feeling tears fighting their way into my eyes.

"You should tell her, before it's too late... before your two get too deep into the friendship and having feelings for the other isn't an option anymore... Just don't lose her okay?"

I whipped the small tears from my eyes, and Luz had a  look of sympathy on her face, along with a soft smile. "I see, I won't lose her. But... maybe you should take your own advice, It's not as late as your think, Y/n"

Luz walked out of the kitchen, up the stairs, and into her room. When she shut the door behind her I let all the emotions I was fighting to keep down out, I just couldn't hold them in anymore. 

tears started falling from my eyes, right next to Hunter's head, if he was to move his head even in the slightest he would get hit with them.

'I wish I could believe you, Luz. But it's too late, I know it is, besides he's... just the golden guard to me. I have to remember that...'
