| Chapter 25 |

(Hunter's P.O.V)

I woke up in a warm bed, a body lying next to me.

I smiled as I turned to look but quickly noticed it was Luz "Morning nerd!" she said with a smile.

"What the actual hell are you doing Luz," I said as I rolled onto my back and up my hands on my face.

"Thought I'd switch places with [F/n], she thought you'd wake up if she got up. Something about the difference in weight? Honestly, I wasn't paying attention, I was hella tired and just wanted to go back to sleep." Luz said as she got up.

"But since you're awake I'm going to eat the food that [F/n] is cooking downstairs, Byeeeee!" Luz said as she ran out of the room and ran downstairs.

I lay there staring at the ceiling for a few minutes before I smiled and started downstairs, "It was fine if you woke me up [f/n] I wouldn't have cared!" I said with a smile as I leaned against the side of the door frame watching her cook as if nothing else around her mattered.

Luz came up behind me and stood there watching alongside me, "She's like a different person when she's in her element huh?" Luz whispered, I couldn't help but smile wider. "She is" I whispered back.

Luz and I looked at each other for a few seconds before looking back at [F/n]. There was a fire in front of her "HOW  DID YOU DO THIS IN THE FEW SECONDS WE WEREN'T LOOKING!" Luz said as she ran in there to help. 

"I don't know!" [F/n] said as she backed away from the fire. "Yeah I'm taking over the cooking from now on, It was an amazing effort!" I said as I put out the fire. 

"I just wanted to make breakfast for everyone!" [F/n] looked at the ground upset. "How about this, we make breakfast together! That way nothing gets set on fire, and you'll still get to help!" I said taking her hand into mine.

[F/n] nodded with a pleased smile, After we cleaned up the mess from the fire [F/n] and I started cooking.

([F/n's] P.O.V)

Hunter and I have been cooking for about eight minutes now, I can't help but glance at him here and there. I've never seen hunter so relaxed, it's as if he's enjoying himself. "I just finished chopping up the peppers, is there anything else I can do to help?" I asked as I carried the cutting board over to Hunter.

I set it down next to him as he grabbed a bowl of uncracked eggs, "Could you separate the white and the yokes for me?" Hunter asked with a warm smile on his face. I nodded while just standing there staring at him.

"[F/n]? Are you okay, Is something wrong?" Hunter stopped what he was doing to look at me, making sure I was okay. "Yeah! I'm fine just... Zoned out for a second." I  said as I moved back over to my side of the counter to separate the parts of the eggs.

"How are yall so cute, but so gross at the same time?!" Luz said through her gags. "Do I need to bring up your crush on-" I was cut off when a dustpan was thrown at me, "Don't? Finish. That. Sentence." Luz made sure to emphasize each word as she said them.

"Wait what?! Is there something you're not telling me, Luz!" I put my hand on my chest, acting as if I was insulted that she was keeping something from me. "Oh come on! You didn't tell me about your crush till like 2 weeks ago!" Luz said pouting.

"In my defense, I was working for the emperor since 2 to 3 weeks ago, I couldn't exactly tell you since ya know, the emperor isn't too fond of you and Eda," I told her as I glanced over at Hunter and smiled.

"Fair enough, but still! It's weird to just admit that I like her out loud!" Luz said, but once she realized what she had said she covered her mouth and quickly got red in the face. "Oh, OH! It's a girl, that means you're fruity! OMG Luz, I'm so proud of you!"

"Thanks, I guess!" Luz said back while trying not to laugh, we were just wasting time now. I'm starting to like being around Eda and Luz again. I smiled to myself as I went back to help make breakfast.

"Anything else I can do to help?" I asked as I walked up beside Hunter with a smile. "Uh it's almost finished honestly, but if you want I can let you plate the food while I wash the dishes" Hunter smiled back at me as he grabbed a few plates from the cabinets. 

"Surprisingly this cabin is stocked with things to live here for at least 2 months, So we won't have to worry about sending Eda or the Bat Queen to get us things for our stay here," Luz said as she laid back on the couch waiting for the food to be finished.

"I didn't expect it to be this filled, from the outside one would think this place was abandoned. But once you get inside it kinda looks like there's been someone living here for a while, It's kinda creepy now that you think about it, Why was it so stocked up?" Luz said as she sat up thinking to see if she'd be able to answer her question.

"How exactly are we supposed to know?" I said as I plated the food with my back facing Luz. "Maybe there has been someone living here until now, maybe they are hiding somewhere waiting to attack!" Luz said sounding a little too excited for someone who had THAT kind of idea in the house they're STAYING IN!

"If that was true why didn't they just attack us while we were asleep, you're a pretty heavy sleeper Luz" Hunter and I laughed at my comment as I walked over to the couch with Luz, handing her the plate and sitting down with my own.

"I mean [Y/n] does have a point, the number of times I'm snuck into ya'lls room while you were-" I elbowed hunter as he sat down next to me cutting off his sentence as I started coughing from the food going down the wrong pipe.

"HE DID WHAT!" Luz put her plate on the coffee table and she threw her hands around trying to wrap her brain around what was just said. "Nothing! It's not important!" I said through my coughing fit.

"LOOK WHO'S KEEPING THINGS SECRET NOW!" Luz said had a look on her face saying that she won. "Listen this is different!" I said trying to clean up the mess that Hunter just caused for me "How exactly is THIS different from my secret!" Luz threw her hands into the air not understanding the situation.

"Because! He was sneaking in for a reason!" I put my plate on the table as I looked up at Luz. "What could possibly be the reason that HUNTER is sneaking into our room while I'M asleep?!" Luz was trying to understand where I was coming from but I guess I wasn't exactly making it easy.

I sighed and looked up at Luz with a look of defeat on my face, she's one this time... "He was sneaking in because-"

A/n - Listen listen listen, I know I always do this, disappear for days/weeks/months, and then finish a new chapter leaving it on an annoying cliffhanger, then make you wait forever for the next chapter. But with everything going on right now I haven't exactly had much free time to write or do really anything. I'm not gonna lie to you guys I finished this chapter while in my history class instead of taking notes or listening ;-; so hopefully, I'll be okay for the upcoming test. Anyways! I should be getting the next chapter out soon if everything goes the way I'm thinking it's going to. Hope you enjoyed the chapter and I'm sorry about the cliffhanger. Word count 1335.
