|Chapter 14|

I smile slightly and put my hands on his face, wiping his tears "Hunter you don't have to worry about me I was gonna fail a mission sometime"

Hunter looked at me while trying to calm down "What do you mean... You never failed a mission"

I sighed "Hunter before I got out onto the mission of protecting you for Belos. . . . My missions were getting harder for me to complete, I was given a mission right before you that almost cost me my life"

Hunter looked at me shocked "what kind of mission would have done that to you I've seen you fight! You fought while keeping me protected when I was unconscious!"

I looked at the ground hesitating to tell him the truth "I had to. . . . Capture Lillith. . . She was going to stay with Eda but. . . I had to get her back here and she didn't spare any mercy"

Hunter looked at me and slightly smiled "That just proves how strong you are   [Y/n] you beat the head guard of the emperor's coven AND LIVED"

"But the only reason the guard respects me is that I'm with you!" I yelled

Hunter looks at me with a smug look "That's because they're scared of you, they know that if they mess up you'll be able to beat them like it was nothing"

I thought to myself and realized that he was right "I never thought of it that way. . ."

Hunter smiled "See you're so respected they just have their own way of showing it!"

"Doesn't feel like it. . ." I said while looking down at the ground

"Have you tried talking to them? Or even sparing with them?" I mean the Emperor's Coven might as well be your family ya know? Might as well be friends with them right?" Hunter said with a slight smile as he laid his hand on top of mine

"I didn't think about it that way. . . I don't even think that people noticed I was here until I either had to work with them on a mission or until I started working along side you!" I said with laughing slightly

"How about this" Hunter stood up and stepped in front of me looking down and holding out his hand "How about tomorrow we go and talk with some of the guard and see if any of them want to spare?"

I smiled and took his hand "Sounds like a good idea to me"

"Then let's head to sleep since it's getting late and we'll head out for the guards quarters in the morning" Hunter walked over to his desk and looked through some of the papers, then sat down on the bed

I smile while watching him and nod as I lay back in my bed "Alright I'll see you in the morning Hunter"

"Goodnight [F/N]" Hunter smiles and laid down

I slowly started to fall asleep and thought about what tomorrow might hold

(Hunters P.O.V)

I laid there for a little while then lifted my head to see that [F/N] was completely asleep

I carefully got up in order to not wake her up and walked out of the room slowly shutting the door

I started walking down the hall and heard walking behind me but when I turned around I didn't see anyone

I stood still for minute staying quote to see if I could hear anything but nothing happened so I continued walking

I looked around to make sure no one was around and walking into a room in the hallway

Once I shut the door behind me I looked at the figure in the room "Why did you ask me here?"

The figure was facing the wall so I couldn't see their face "Because Golden Guard you haven't done what we've told you to do yet!"

I sighed and looked at the ground "I know but I still don't see why we have to do this"

The figure slightly looked over their shoulder and I could see the mask the figure was wearing to cover their face

I looked at the mask and can't put my finger on where over seen the mask before

"You haven't fallen for her, RIGHT Golden Guard" The figure looked back at the wall in front of them

"I- No. No I haven't" I kept a straight face has my heart hurt front saying something like that "She's a monster, who could ever fall for someone with a curse like her's"

"Good, now make sure you keep that mind set or else I'll have to take this mission of yours onto my own hands" I figure said as they lifted they hand

"I don't let the Emperor down, not again" I said while lifting my head slightly

"You may go" the figure said while pointing at the door behind me

I nod and walk out of the room closing the door behind me 'I can't believe I have to do this. . . but it's for her own good and it's for the Emperor' I think to myself while trying to hold back tears

I start walking back to the room while wiping a few tears from my face and drying my eyes

(Back with the figure | Figures P.O.V)

"Are you sure this is what's best for her?" I look over at the other figure that was in the corner to the right of the door

"Yes Eda, it's the best thing we can do for [F/N], but I can take it from here it's to dangerous for you to basically be at the Emperor's doorstep like this" Raine took off their hood and looked at me

"But rain. . . . I can't see the way Hunter and [F/N] look at each other, what if it hurts then to get separated like this. . ."

Raine has a sincere smile as they looks at me "Sounds familiar doesn't it? Being separated and not being able to see each other because of a coven"

I smile and look at him "Sounds like a story I've heard before"

Raine walks over to me and whispers "But if we don't do this the Emperor's going to kill [F/N]"

A/n - OKAY SO I KNOW IT'S BEEN FOREVER SINCE I'VE POSTED A NEW CHAPTER! And I'm not gonna lie I genuinely forgot about this story for a while but hopefully as long as drum line does me some justice, I should be able to post a few more chapters more often instead of months apart like what's been happening!
