The Dare

Chapter 14

We make it to the hospital and we see Rachel. This is the first time I'm seeing her awake since the morning we went to school.

"Hey Rachel" I saw walking towards her giving her a gentle hug trying not hurt her. She smiles with all the energy she has and her eyes move to Noah then back to me.

"This is Noah" I say turning to Noah and seeing him give her a friendly smile. I pause not knowing if I should say it.

"My.. boyfriend"
His eye open wide for a second and turns his head to me, surprised then smiles. I turn back to Rachel and she blinks rapidly but then smiles too. "Wow, I was only here for a few day I feel like so much things happened while I was gone" she says with a raspy voice.

We sit and chat to her for a while. God I missed her so much. I miss her advice that she'd give me with boys and advice in general. I miss her making me laugh and watching movies on the couch together.

I stand up and say "We're going to go to Noah's dad now, we won't be long"

Mom nods and smiles before turning back to Rachel.

We walk down the hallway holding hands with my head on his shoulder.
"I missed her." I whisper gently as I'm right under his ear.
"You looked very happy to see her" he says gently stroking my hand then gives me a peck on the forehead.

We make it to his room and he's sitting on the bed watching television. He head turns to Noah then me and is gives me a jolly smile like he already knows me.
"Dad, this is y/n"
He throws his hands up in the air, "Ah, y/n your the one that Noah won't stop talking about"

Noah gives him a "dad stop" laugh and squeezes my hand.
I laugh "Hello Mr Jupe"

"Call me Chris" he says with the brightest smile i've ever seen on a humans face before.
I nod and he gestures me and Noah to take a seat on the stools next to his bed.

We break out a massive laugh as Chris shows me embarrassing pictures of Noah when he was smaller, Noah getting embarrassed of course.
"So cute" I say. He puts his hand in his head, shaking it.

Noah stands up and says "I better bring her back to her mom and her sister" trying to get out of the conversation.
"Okay, y/n tell your sister I said get better soon" He says as we walk out the door.
I nod and smile but when I turn around walking out the door with Noah, my smile fades feeling horrible for Chris.

Rachel will be fully recovered in a few month but he's not able to "get well soon" he's never going to get well. But i stop as I hear him calling my name again.

"Come again soon... I'm glad Noah met you" he says with a friendly smile. I couldn't help but walk over and give him a hug almost letting a tear slip out. I smile and I leave the room with Noah.

"You okay?" Noah says looking down at me clearly seeing that I let a tear slip.

"I just-  I just feel so bad for him Noah" I say stop in the middle of the hallway. He stops with me and wraps his arms around my neck and pulls me in slightly.

"I know" he whispers.
"And you too" I say quietly. I cup his face and I rest my forehead on mine, looking into his eyes tearing up. 

I softly peck him on his plumped lips and I pull him in tighter.

We make it to Rachel's room again and I stop at the doorway behind the wall so she couldn't see me wipes my tears away, making it seem like I wasn't crying.  "How do I look" I say wiping the trail of tears that fell down my rosy cheeks.

"You look beautiful" he say softly. His big brown eyes stare back at me. And I swear to god whenever he looks at me I can't breathe. I could melt to the floor at this moment but I walk into her room.
He grabs my hand and we walk into the room.
Mom stands up and says "Good news, Rachel will be able to come home in a few days"

"Thank god" Rachel says from her bed. "The food here is horrible" she adds, making a gagging sound. I laugh and say "That's great Rachel, I miss you so much at home"

"Me too" she reply's.
I walk to her bed and hug her before walking out of the room and going back home.
