Next morning
,The night before, I fell asleep with headphones in listening to a podcast. So when I woke up to a random alarm, it blared in my ears almost frightening me. At first I thought someone was calling me but it was an alarm which was weird, becuase i never set an alarm.
I stare at my phone, squinting my eyes adjusting to the light.
It's 7:05am.
I look at the bottom of the screen where you can label your alarms and it says:"Go look at the sunrise! - N"
He must have remembered my password.
I had the same password for all the phones I've had over the years. I slip out of bed to go to the balcony, but I quickly turn around and grab my thickest blanket I own.
I slide the door open and step outside where the cold air immediately sends chills down my spine. I lean against the railing and I look out the sunrise. I don't think I've seen the sunrise in all my years here in New York. I turn to Noah's apartment building and I look at every balcony.
Every balcony has something different on them. Plants, fairy lights, baby toys, bikes, some have nothing.
My eyes fall to one balcony that's on the same level as mine, that's right across from mine. I see the door slowly sliding open.
Noah walks out in a big blanket yawning, immediately turning to the sunrise.
I could see his chest rise from under he blanket wrapped around him, taking a breathe of fresh air. His hair hasn't been fixed yet as he probably just woke up too.He leans on the railing and admires the sunset, so i turn to the right of me to admire it as well as Noahs gaze makes it look like the most beautiful thing in the world.
(Pretend it's the right floor etc)
At the corner of my eye i could see his tiny head in the distance turn to my direction, but i don't turn my head. I wanted to. I really wanted to but I couldn't draw my eyes away from it.
A few minutes go by where the sun is almost fully risen, I creep my eyes across the street to his balcony where he hasn't moved. I could see his mouth stretch to a smile, before pulling his hand out from under the blanket and gives a small wave.
I pull my phone out of my pyjama pants pocket. I stare at Noah's phone number in my blocked list from all those years ago. I look up at him and he's watching the sunrise.
I click unblock and start typing-You look well wrapped up there!
I look up and he has his phone out too, he looks up at me and smiles, I can see it from all the way over here.
Ping.-So do you
I look up and smile as I watch him smile too, before looking down and began to type again.
-I see you set my alarm
I click send and look up. He's staring at his phone, then jolts his eyes up to me smirking.
-couldn't help it when you said your never awake at the this time, so your welcome.
I read the message he sent, and another text comes.
-I hope that's okay, I didn't look at any else I promise.
I look back up and Noah's looking at me, before pressing his lips together giving me an apologetic smile.
I type.
-Noah it's okay I trust you, and thank you. I'm so glad I saw it this morning.
"Y/n?" I heard from behind me. Ethan slowly steps outside. I quickly turned around almost frightened.
"It's so cold, what are you doing out here so early" He says looking me up and down in my big blanket. I turn around and to look over at Noah, but he's gone.
"Wanted to the see the sunrise" I say turning back to the sunrise.
"Come back to bed and close this door it's freezing" he says folding his arms with the coldness and walking back inside. I follow him. But I don't go back to bed, I start my day.
Later:
I sit at my makeup table putting on my daily makeup and Ethans in the kitchen making coffee. I could see in the mirror that he's standing behind me with a cup of coffee leaning against the doorway.
"I won't be here for about two days, I'm visiting my family in Louisiana"
I look at him in the mirror as he sips his coffee then I turn around.
"Okay" I say smiling.
He turns around and walks back up the hallway to the kitchen and my smile immediately fades away. To be honest I'm kind of glad he's going, gives me time to breathe. Sometimes I feel like when he's here, I'm suffocating. Then I hear the door opening again, hoping that it's not Ethan but it's Emma.
"Hey girl!"
"Morning Emma"
"So I was thinking we should go on a girls day out, Ellie's supposed to be coming today isn't she?"I nod while putting foundation.
"The three of us can have a girls day, we go to the cafe, go shopping, I actually need to get a dress for a Christmas party I'm going to""I do too" I reply while filling in my eyebrows.
"Your going to Bryce's too?"
I turn around. "Bryce?""Yeah? Why" she says confused.
I stand up and root through my purse. I pull out the piece of paper with the address on it, and show it to Emma.
"This address?"
She scans it a few times.
"Yeah"
I roll my eyes sitting back down on my stool. "I didn't know Bryce lives in New York too" I say."How do you know Bryce" she ask helping me do my eyebrows.
"Ugh long story. He was an old friend"
"So how we're you invited without even knowing that it's Bryce's"I pause "His friend Noah gave it to me"
"And who is this Noah guy that I never heard of""Even longer story" I laugh.
I scoot in the chair closer to her
"After we go shopping and everything, let's come back here and chill, and I'll explain."
"Okay" she says smiling, doing my lip liner. When she's finished she stands up and kisses me on the cheek.
"Beautiful"
