Sabo could feel the cold air on her face, the tip of her nose felt frozen.
They were still on the skiff; she could feel herself lying on it. Her heartbeat sped up, she had failed her friends and knew that if she opened her eyes, she would find them all dead, killed by the volcra because she couldn't handle staying awake for a second longer.
Sabo her eyes snapped open.
Kaz, Inej, and Jesper were looking down at her.
"Thank the Saints." Inej breathed. Sabo turned her gaze towards her.
"Indeed," Kaz whispered under his breath.
Jesper smiled at her. "Welcome back to the land of the living." He said as he looked around them "If that's what you want to call it." Sabo looked around her as she slowly sat up, she could feel Kaz his hand a few centimeters away from her back, not touching her but there if she needed it. The light was hovering around them like a cloud, without looking Sabo knew that Alina was keeping them safe. Zoya was standing on the upper deck, moving the skiff through the Fold.
"What happened?" Sabo asked Jesper who was behind Kaz.
"You probably have a concussion." He said pointing at the wound on her head. Sabo touched it and flinched.
"Probably." She agreed.
"We'll find you a Heartrender in Os Kervo," Kaz stated, his voice dark. He stood up in front of her, holding out his hand. Sabo took it and got up from the cold floor.
Kaz his eyes landed on Mal and Alina. They were standing at the front of the skiff. Alina her hands were raised, sunlight rising from her. Kaz glanced back to Sabo who was also watching them. He could do it, he decided. They could go back to Ketterdam and he could keep her safe, even if she was a saint.

After getting out of the Fold the crew searched for a place to make a campfire. Kaz stayed behind on the skiff, searching for clothes inside of the cargo for Alina and Mal to disguise themselves with.
"You need help?" Sabo asked him.
"No need, go warm up at the campfire."
Sabo leaned on the doorframe watching him search through several boxes. She was relieved that he was the one that knew who she really was.
"I'll bet you twenty kruge that when you reach us, Jesper is still struggling with creating the campfire."
The corners of Kaz his mouth lifted as he opened another box. "You've been watching him struggle for over a year."
Sabo scoffed at him.
"You mean that I've been helping him light a fire for over a year."
Kaz turned around as he raised his eyebrows, knowing she was lying.
"Okay, okay," She admitted before walking towards the stairs that led up towards the main deck. "I did like to watch him struggle a bit."
Kaz laughed as he turned back towards the boxes. "Go help him."

Jesper was slowly giving up on making the crew a campfire.
"I could shoot at it." He suggested. "Or maybe the fire sparks will bounce off it."
"I don't think that that's how it works." Alina replied as she sat down across Sabo. "Sabo, why don't you give him a hand."
