Kaz had sent them all away to either gather information or to gather the last things they needed.

'Why are we getting all this stuff, anyway?' Jesper asked. 'We won't be able to take it with us.'

'Just get it, Jesper.' was all Kaz had to say.

Nina was sent out to chat up the locals to try and discover the best place to lay their ambush for the wagon as Sabo and Kaz walked in the small streets of Djerholm.

'What are we supposed to do?' Sabo asked.

'We're going to the bakery we passed earlier and get some real food for the others.'

'You saw me making eyes at the famous Hringkälla festive cookies.' Sabo replied.

'You did?' Kaz asked, pretending he didn't know what she was talking about.

Kaz had noticed her eyeing the Hringkälla cookies.

'Kaz, you'll literally die, these cookies are godsent.' she said excitedly. Kaz hadn't seen her so excited in a long time.

The bakery was small and smelled delicious. Sabo walked to the man who worked there and started a conversation. She ordered everything she liked and knew the others would love.

'Your Fjerdan sounds good.' Kaz said as he watched the man gathering multiple pastries.

Sabo looked away from him towards the orders that another woman was getting ready. 'Well,' she replied in Kerch. 'It is my mother language.'

As Sabo looked at the orders she saw a familiar name.

Heleen vün Hünten.

'Put away your cane.' Sabo whispered.

Kaz frowned but did what she asked. As Sabo looked down to confirm he'd done what she asked, she stepped closer to the woman. Sabo hadn't heard what Kaz was saying as she started speaking to her.

'Excuse me.' she smiled. 'I'm also here to get the order from Heleen.'

The woman observed her with a displeased look before looking at Kaz. She grabbed Heleen's order and handed it to her.

'Early morning?' she asked with an edge to her tone.

'Early night.' Sabo replied.

'Miss?' the man called. 'Your order.'

'Must have a big party tonight.' the woman judged.

'You know we do.' Sabo replied as Kaz held the bags. They walked outside as Kaz observed the bags.

'Just how hungry are you?'

Sabo grabbed the receipt from Heleen's order and read the details that were standing on it.

Heleen vün Hünten, Da Lysthus.

'Why did I have to put away my cane?' he asked.

Sabo gave him the receipt. 'Otherwise, she might recognize who stole her order.'

Kaz frowned at the small paper, wondering why she gave him something in a language he didn't understand before he saw the name. 'Tante Heleen?' he asked as he held it up.

'She kept her old name and added some accents to it.' Sabo said. 'What if Pekka traded her another house of exotica for the deed of the Crow Club?'

'All the proof that the judge in Ketterdam needed was seeing her alive.' Kaz realized. 'That and a free pass whenever the judge would be in Fjerda.' He gave Sabo the note back. 'She ordered local, is she near Djerholm?'
