strutting through the concrete roads felix's eyes were attached to, the crescent moon shone brighter than the stars that gathered and sparkled together. the night absorbed the blazing sun, which was once partially setting when the two first set out to their little 'date'.
they had decided to take a walk after their session of playing laser tag at a nearby arcade which was located a few feet away from the cafè.
their laughter filled the voids of emptiness, awkwardness not having a trace in their conversations compared to the first few moments they shared.
chan's jacket was still slung over the younger's shoulders, preventing him from the shivering or any attacks of tremor.
without admitting it, felix secretly seeked it's tranquillizing warmth even if it was a size bigger than him. chan's broad, muscular shoulders created a contrast to felix's petite and arched shoulders. the brunette wasn't visibly jealous, but a part of him did feel insecure.
"you know, you're way more fun than i envisioned." chan stated out of the blue, snapping the brunette out of his thoughts.
he took as a compliment, and smiled gingerly. "what did you expect to me be like?" though, felix didn't entirely believe his compliment, he thought it would be for a better understanding if the blonde extended his words.
"well i certainly found you eye-catching. especially since you're freckles made you more handsome." chan added, half of the words that spilled from his lips weren't lies, but he still was keen on the way he framed his sentences. he really wanted to felix to understand how highly he looked up to him, without throughly stating the small development of feelings in his heart.
'handsome.'
it was one of felix's favorite compliments. the thought flashed at how his girlfriend used to call him handsome almost every time, knowingly that it made him flustered. he couldn't hold back the grin growing wider and looked at how his steps matched with chan out of embarrassment.
"my girlfriend always calls me that." he reminisced, a blush flushing over his freckled cheeks. "handsome."
chan fell silent, still maintaining the smile even if he knew felix's thoughts or words weren't related to him. he wondered, 'why did it hurt?'
"oh, yeah?" he asked, playfully nudging felix by the shoulder. the said male grinned wider, barely nibbling on the bottom of his lip to prevent the blush he was fighting.
nonetheless he nods, "she says i always blush when i get complimented." he continued, "she said it's cute." though he was stating what his girlfriend tried to make him believe, he somehow felt uneasy of it. as if it was just a sugar-coated lie. in his eyes, he wasn't that attractive as she implied.
"you are cute."
felix felt his steps stop for a brief moment, glancing next to chan who affirmed his words. though the strong blush was caused due to the compliment chan slipped in his words of affirmation, he also was partially shocked that the male had read through his hesitant words.
nobody ever noticed him enough to acknowledge the lack of reassurance he needed, without him having to verbally ask them. but the way chan affirmed him, it made him feel understood without even having the need to state that he was insecure.
did he make it obvious when he was with chan?
"y-you really think so?" he asked again, internally slapping himself for appearing as if he just was in seek of desperate attention.
