the street performance was glorious, especially with the compliments and dozen of red roses thrown towards the caramel haired.
jisung blushed at every one of them, his stuffed cheeks having a rosy color absorb them when minho had signaled a thumbs up from his view. the action was so small, yet it warmed his heart.
the two shared a rather long time sparing each other flirty glances, not until the caramel haired felt a hand placed on his shoulder, making him flinch at the sudden contact.
turning around, he shared a smile with the blonde who pulled him into a tight hug. jisung smiled against his chest, but felt his lips creasing backwards when he realized something wasn't right.
hyunjin's hugs weren't as secure as they used to be. they were rather foreign. the place he'd used to feel sparks erupting in his heart, the place he'd deprive of without a single day, and the place he once wished to be for the rest of his eternity, suddenly felt.. empty.
there were no firework setting off, no comfort seeked from his scent and most importantly, he felt distant. but he didn't understand, it used to be his safe place, why was he suddenly feeling nothing at all?
before he could initiate an answer to any of his thoughts, the blonde pulled away.
but of course, again he felt the taller inching closer before having their lips collide against each other.
hesitance laced in the suddenness, he kissed back despite it feeling different than usual. more importantly, his attention was averted at the sudden cheering noises the crowds erupted on the sight of seeing them sharing the meaningless kiss.
he could tell hyunjin was the one putting in the entire efforts, while he lazily tried to kiss back, as if it was some chore rather than a moment he was meant to enjoy.
hyunjin pulled away enthusiastically, cupping his cheeks and smiling pridefully at his dearest boyfriend, blinded by the emptiness in his chocolate adorned irises.
"you did amazing, sungie."
jisung was lost. his helpless and blank eyes piercing into hyunjin's irises gleaming with desire. all he could think of this entire time was; 'when will he stop?'
no, in fact he hadn't had a clue on why he wanted his boyfriend to stop showing affection. he should be preserving this, smothering his boyfriend with the same amount of love and desire, but he couldn't force himself to feel something non existent. all he could do was pretend.
"you know i love you, right sung?"
creasing a somewhat smile pleasing enough for the audience that seemed enthusiastic on their moment, he nodded. assuring that he did in fact acknowledge the amount of love the blonde haired radiated.
which was true; hyunjin's love was unconditional.
"i've been meaning to ask this for a while now.."
jisung's smile dropped dead, so did his heart when his pupils popped out in shock while he watched hyunjin position himself on one knee.
'no this can't be happening..' jisung repeated, his heart speeding at a irrational speed. suddenly he was at a loss of words, not able to shriek out even the littlest amount of discomfort despite the amount of anxiety washing over his nerves. 'not in front of all these people..'
