7:45pmYou ran up to your room, your fingers unlatching the glass panes, shoving it up before excitedly grasping the paper airplane that sat taped to the windowsill. The paper is slightly bent in different ways from the wind handling it roughly.
You unwrapped it, your eyes quickly skimming over its material in a matter of mere seconds, your excitement clear as day.
'You never told me your name'
You smiled, surprised that he even wanted to take any kind of interest in you. You pulled a ballpoint pen out of your pocket, the slightly crinkled cap outing your habit of chewing on it, before writing your name underneath his initial message. You sent the plane back to the neighboring balcony, the evening wind carrying it smoothly.
To your surprise, a quick flash of Brian's arm and hand came and went, grabbing the plane and pulling it back into his room.
You waited a moment, staring to where your neighbor is before the plane was hurled to you.
'That's a lovely name'
Your smile only widened at his compliment, your eyes looking towards where he hid—though this time, he wasn't completely hidden in the depths of his room.
A pair of blue eyes stared right back at you.

5:03pmYou threw your dark apron over your shoulder, ready to get the fuck out of the cafe you're employed at, the smell of pastries and coffee lingering despite the time of day.
Your name being called let an internal sigh course through you, your body spinning on your heels to face the calling voice.
"Can I talk to you?"
"What is it, Charlie? I'm ready to get home." Your twin brother stood next to the dark, brick building. You hugged your coat, the wind flying through your hair.
"Sorry for like, giving out your address to Jay.. I uh, I thought you guys were still friends, y'know?" He apologized, rubbing the back of his neck. "Since you guys were close in college."
You sighed. "Its fine, Charlie. You'd better be glad I don't have any issues with him, otherwise I'd be squaring up with you right now, fist to fist." You half joked with your brother.
Charlie laughed, punching your shoulder, your body instinctively flinching but nonetheless failing to dodge his playful hit.

The car gently rocked as you sped down the highway, lights passing your eyes faster than your brain could register. The night was crisp and dark, your favorite type of night, but you couldn't enjoy your surroundings as your yearning for your bed became greater. To be home, warm, wrapped up in your blankets.
Your eyes tiredly gazed to the road, your headlights illuminating the dim asphalt path. The familiar sound of your ringtone sounding filled the silent car, your hands instinctively grabbing the device from your pocket.
Before you could even say anything, the guy on the other end spoke first.
"Hey, I uh.. I know it's late, but I really need your help with something."
"Jay? It's almost eight! I'm coming back from Charlie's place now." You let your phone rest on your shoulder, head tilted to the right to hold it in place as you focused on the road.
"Please, I really don't want to do it alone.."
The hesitation and anxiety that laced his voice caused a sigh to escape your lips—that being the only reason you're hearing him out.
"Alright, what is it?" Your hands gripped the steering wheel as you waited for your college friend to give you a response.
"I received a uh, a tip, of where Brian may be."
That name stopped you dead in your mental tracks, the second time he had been mentioned. You'd always wondered where Brian had gone off to. He had just seemed to disappear despite always saying he would stick by you forever.
He stopped answering his phone, you couldn't get in contact with him at all these past three years. It hurt at first, but you just thought maybe he moved on. Found other people.
"Alright. Give me the address and I'll be there soon."
