"Everlong"

1:02pm"Oh, Jesus Christ, thank god."
Charlie's tone was a mix of anger and concern.
Albeit, this is one of the only times you've seen your twin shed a tear. He was never the emotional one out of you two. He pulled you in for a hug.
"Charlie, please. It's fucking weird, but I swear I can explain." You held your hands above his back, a sigh leaving your lips.
He let go of you before sitting in the booth next to you.
"I don't.. I really don't want to get you involved in this.." a sigh left your lips as he stops you.
"I already know. I'm already involved. Jay kept me updated. That's how we found you."
Your surprised expression seemed to express what both you and Tim felt, Charlie pulling his laptop out of his side bag he's had since high school.
"And don't leave any details out. I already know about everything, even Lenny."
"Lenny? Who-"
"The guy. You know.. the guy who got mauled by a human." He nudged your arm with a near wincing expression. "The police brushed it off as just an animal attack I guess. Jay assumed they swept the case under the rug because of the weird aspect to it."
You clicked your tongue as Tim stifled a laugh, his sinister humor peaking through a tad bit.
"Anyway, look at this." Charlie pulled up YouTube, clicking on the marble hornets channel. You understood Jay was keeping tabs on the whole situation, some videos even showing you in the footage, however Charlie clicked on a video that was uploaded not that long ago.
"Jay got this footage about a few weeks ago."
"What the hell.." Tim muttered as he came on screen, walking past Jay at night—in bushes beside some trees. Tim's head in the footage turned slightly, revealing a mask. The mask.
Though what got you, was seeing yourself behind him, and what looks like a blunt object in your grasp. No mask, but you have no recollection of this ever happening.
"What the hell.." you muttered as Jay moved around in the footage. The greenish tint of the night vision mode blurred a lot of what you could see, but from what was visible, Tim's masked face snapped towards Jay, and started hurdling towards him with you not far behind.
"Move! Run!" Charlie's voice is behind the camera, Jay listening to him. The camera drops to the ground on its side, viewing your figure grasping onto Jay on the ground.
"She's got me! Charlie, run!"
The footage cracks and glitches as the audio distorts, a few scenes and bits being skipped or repeated for a split second.
The footage skips to a black screen as the video ends, your facial expression matching Tim's.
"It's got you too." Tim muttered, letting out a sigh before sipping his coffee. Your eyes could only watch as Charlie slowly closed his laptop, placing it into his bag.
"Do you still have contact with Jay?"
"Yeah, he's staying with me for the moment being. We've been trying to find you guys for a while."
You debated on telling them about Brian, whom you haven't seen in a hot minute.
"Have you guys seen Brian? By any chance?"
"We thought we had some sightings, but every time we've come across him in the past, he's just.. he isn't normal. I'm sorry, but I feel like the real 'him' is corrupted by now." You would've believed Charlie's solemn tone if it weren't for your interactions with Brian those few months.
"Charlie.. some of those months I was gone, I was with Brian. He wouldn't.. quite let me leave. As for the 'real' him, I.. it was like a mixture of him and his alter ego. It's like he wants to kill me one minute and wants to be talk or be around me the next." A sigh left your lips as you rubbed your temple.
"Alright then. I'll notify Jay about this and see what our next move is." He stood up from the booth, eyes meeting yours as he dug into his bag before handing you your cell phone.
"Jay found it with Lenny's body." He watched as you observed the phone before shoving it into your pocket.
"Also, you're gonna kill me, but, I've been paying your rent and whatnot since you've been gone.. y'know.. incase you came back." Charlie gave you a lopsided smile before letting himself leave the restaurant.
You couldn't even stop him as he walked out the door, your mind blank from his words.
"Talk about a good brother, huh?" Tim let out a low laugh before grabbing your coffee mug.
