"Tongue Tied"
-GrouploveJuly 4th, 2006
1:34pmThe wind was like something alive; it entered every pore of you and it, too, had a smell, carrying with it the earthiness of the marsh reeds.
Your feet crunched the twigs and grass below them, eyes gazing across the labyrinth of trees—the golden glow of the sun's rays shining through the thick leaves of the woods.
"Is it somewhere up here?" Amy questioned, her tow-colored hair put up in a slightly messy bun. Your skin is sun-kissed, your bag hanging loosely off one of your shoulders.
"Yeah, we're almost there." Brian assured, his black shirt hugging his frame well.
"You're gonna burn up in that shirt." You playfully shoved his shoulder, a corresponding smirk plastered on his face.
"Oh, hush." A laugh left his lips as the eight of you made your way to the river-bank. Trees towered over the body of water, large rocks littering the banks of the river.
"Oh, hell yes." Seth's words morphed into a laugh as the beautiful oasis came into view. He threw off his shirt before making a beeline for the water, jumping in.
You laughed, setting your bag down before you walked to where Amy and Sarah stood. The three of you had previously put on swimsuits underneath your clothes, so all that was needed to do was to get rid of a layer of clothing.
You stripped of your shirt and shorts, revealing your two-piece swimsuit Amy had let you keep beforehand—skin now exposed to the warm, summer air.
You booked it towards the water, jumping nearly headfirst off of a nearby hill. The splash scared the life out of Seth, who nearly fell backwards.
Your laughing sprouted up as you emerged from the water, pushing your soaked hair out of your face. A sudden shriek left your mouth as you felt something tugging your leg.
Though, you're soon to be calmed by Brian popping up out of the water, laughing his ass off.
"Brian, you dick!" You punched his shoulder, his hair many shades darker than it is dry. "Sorry sweetheart, it's in my nature."
"Nature my ass.." you muttered under your breath as a small smile formed on your face. His much taller frame turned towards the riverbank, Alex and Jay pitching the tent by the water.
"Jaybird! Get your ass in here!" You shouted for Jay, the occupied man looking towards you at the sound of your voice.
"Just a second!" He shouted back while Tim slowly waddled into the water—his hesitant behavior making Brian snicker behind you.
"It's cold as fuck, shut up!" Tim's words only caused Brian to laugh harder. Jay threw in a few pool floats he had bought beforehand. You and Tim gave each other the side-eye before making a run—waddle swim—to the donut float.
"I'm getting that fucking float!" Tim shouted, to which you jumped onto his shoulders while he had his back to you, causing him to fall backwards.
You quickly made your way to the float, making a desperate jump to it. You had just barely managed to land on it before Tim shoved the float over, taking it as his own.
"Man, fuck you!" A fit of laughter left your mouths, Tim taking this as his own victory.
"Jesus, you guys are animals." Alex's playful remark only made you laugh harder, your body floating in the water.

11:32pmYour eyes jolted open, body instinctively sitting up from the comforts of your bed. You couldn't decipher the noise that had awaken you, but you knew it wasn't by any means good.
You swung your legs over the side of the bed, hands grasping the lamp on your bedside nightstand. You cracked open the door as quietly as possible, your eyes scanning the dark hallway.
The haunting hue of the bathroom light emitted from the room, your breath becoming shakier as you could clearly recall shutting it off after your shower.
You slowly made your way to the bathroom, a shriek leaving your mouth—eyes widening as you dropped the lamp, it shattering across the floors.
The thick, rusty-crimson liquid stained your sink bowl, a quiet, shaky cry leaving your lips as you read the cryptic message written in the horrid, bloody ink.
'I adore you'
