Chapter Thirty One

Maya POV:
"19 barn now!" I shouted to the team, "Gracie, barn" I said opening my office door. A few moments later everyone came into the barn and lined up, "we're doing a two hour group workout, Gracie is joining in as she's being punished for sneaking out and going to a party" I told the team "ha sick" Gibson joked, "oh and that got you and extra 30 push-ups" I told him "ha unlucky" Gracie said, "you want to join him?" I asked her, "no cap" she said chuckling, "alrighty then everyone in pairs, "Gibson and Herrera, Hughes and Montgomery, Warren and Miller and then you are stuck with me missy" I said turning around to face Gracie, "fantastic" she said sarcastically making the team laugh. "Okay let's get started!" I said excitedly but only receiving some groans from the others.

Gracie POV:
"Mom can I stop now" I said to Maya while she was holding my feet as I was doing sit-ups. "Yeah good girl, everyone take a 10 minute break!" She shouted to the rest of the team. She stood up and I flopped down onto the floor "how are you not dead?" I asked her as she was standing over me, "this is nothing" she chuckled, "come on let's get some water" Maya said holding out her hand which I took and then pulling me up like I weighed nothing.
"How'd you find it?" She asked me while we drank water, "painful but I'm enjoying" I admitted, "I'm glad your enjoying your punishment" she said sarcastically, "can I miss the rest please? I don't think I can do anymore" I asked, "okay, I'm proud of you" she said kissing my forehead, "and go shower you smell" Maya joked before giving me a wink and walking back down to the barn.
......
"Hi bambina" Carina said as I got in the car to go home, "hi mama" I smiled being happy to see her, "good mood?" she asked, "yeh actually, I thought this day would be hell but I actually enjoyed" I admitted, "oh I'm surprised to hear" she told me, "oh hi Harper!" I said seeing Harper in the backseat through the mirror, "hi" she said sleepily, "did you enjoy your sleepover?" I asked her "yes I played with Zola, Bailey and Ellis" she told me, "I'm glad you had fun" I smiled.
...... (time jump)......

Monday night
Maya POV:
"Honey I'm home!" I shouted walking through the door at around 4pm, "hi bambina" Carina said from the kitchen, "mommy!" Harper said running over and jumping onto me, "hi sweetheart, I missed you sooo much" I told her swinging her around, "how was work?" Carina asked me, "uh not much happened, only went on  one call so I just did paperwork" I told her. "Mommm..." Gracie said popping her head around the door frame, "yes...." I asked matching her tone, "I want to ask you something, I already asked mama but she said ask you" she told me, "okay shoot" i said, "I was wandering if I could join the track team? We've been doing it in school and I had the best time record out of everyone. My teacher even told me I had a talent for it and that I should join a team" Gracie told me confidently. "Oh" I said slightly surprised, "Um, can I talk to mama for a second?" I asked her, "yeh okay" she said going upstairs, "what do you think?" I said turning my attention to Carina, "I'm okay with it, I told her to ask you because of your history and your dad I didn't know how you'd feel about it..." carina trailed off, "I'm just scared of turning into him" I admitted, "oh bellina, you could never be him, I see how much you love these girls and I know you would never hurt them" Carina said holding my face, "yeh I guess you're right" I said wrapping my arms around her waist, "Gracie!" I shouted, she quickly came downstairs and joined us in the kitchen "yes?" She asked, "you can do track" I told her, "really?" She asked and I nodded, "thankyou thankyou thankyou!!" She said running over and hugging me, "hey! I was the one who convinced her" Carina said rolling her eyes playfully "Thankyou mama" she said coming over and hugging me, "they have a practice after school tomorrow, can we go?" she said looking up at me, "okay I'm not working so I'll take you" I told her. "Yay thankyou mom!" Gracie said walking over to the fridge, "ugh there's nothing here! Can we get takeout pleaseee...." Gracie pleaded, "hmmm fine" I agreed, "Chinese food?" Carina asked, "sounds good."

Carina POV:
"Bambina are you okay?" I asked Harper who looked down, "mhm" she mumbled, "come here" I said sitting on the floor next to her and patting my legs, she came over sitting to face me in my lap, "what's wrong bambina?" I asked her, "I'm bored" she told me, "what do you want to do bellina?" I asked her, "you read book?" She asked looking up at me
cutely. "Of course I will bambina" I said instantly making her face light up. "Pick a book?" She asked me, "how about I tell you something my mama used to say to me when I was younger?" I said carrying her to bed and then sitting next to her. "Avrete sorrisi sul viso, come i grilli e le stelle ad agosto" I told her stroking her hair, "Mama?" She asked "yes?" I questioned, "what does it mean?" she said. "You'll have smiles on your face, like crickets and stars in august" I told her before kissing her forehead "goodnight bambina" I said turning off her light "night mama".

Maya POV:
"Gracie come here" I said calling gracie over to the kitchen island where I was sitting. She made her way over and sat on a stool opposite me, "yeh?" She asked, "I just wanted to find out a bit more about the track team" I told her, "oh right so trainings at 4pm-5:30pm, um a few of my friends go and they said it's really fun but that's all I know" she said to me, "okay sounds good I'll come with you tomorrow and talk to the coach" I said "okay" she said walking over to the fridge to get a drink.

A/n: Finally had time to do an update.... Hope you enjoyed as always.
