Sapnap pauses his Minecraft game, his focus now turned towards his phone on his desk beside his keyboard. "Sapnap?" Dream calls, seeing the man not moving in game, "What's up?" Sapnap blinks a few times, trying to ground himself. "Hold on, Dream, I need to take this phone call. I'll let you know when it's over, we aren't finished with Minecraft" Sapnap responds, his voice almost distant, or sounding too monotone. "Okay!" Dream responds, quite the opposite of Sapnap.
Sapnap mutes himself in Discord, then grabs his phone and swipes to answer. "Hello?" he greets, voice laced with confusion. "Sapnap, hey!" Quackity greets on the other line of the phone call. Sapnap furrows his eyebrows, but a bright smile still forms on his face. "My old roomie! My bestie! How have you been?" Quackity questions. Sapnap can picture the beaming smile on Quackity's face.
"I've been really good, how about you, dude?" he doesn't include Karl in his answer. Quackity laughs for no reason, it sounds breathy like he can't believe he's on the phone with Sapnap. Sapnap feels the same way though, him and Quackity haven't called in a while. "I'm great! A lot of assignments are piling up, but I'm managing. I need a break, so I actually wanted to talk to you about something" Quackity's voice falls unsteady. Sapnap pulls at his hoodie strings anxiously.
"Yeah, what is it, Q?" Sapnap questions, anxiety bubbling up inside his stomach and throat. Quackity clears his throat, "So I was talking with Tina, and we think we should have a college friends reunion! It's been two years, it's been way too long. We need to see each other again, I miss you guys. Tina feels the same way." Sapnap sucks in a breath and bites his lip, "Quackity, I don't know." "Oh" Quackity pauses, "I'm sorry, I completely didn't think about that. You don't have to come if it's too much for you, but just know, we would all love to have you here. We really do miss you; if we could move to Florida, we would."
Sapnap chuckles, "I appreciate it. Can I have some time to think about it? When will the reunion be?" "Yes, of course. Due to schedules though, we're having it pretty early. It's the twelfth, so you would probably have to fly out sometime on the eleventh, unless you need rest from the flight" Quackity answers. Sapnap checks the date with his phone, then presses it back up to his ear. "I'll let you know by the tenth then. I'm sorry if I disappoint though" Sapnap apologizes.
"Don't speak that way. We all understand. We love you, Sap. Take your time, and get back to me. No one will be disappointed" Quackity reassures. Sapnap smiles softly, "Okay, thank you, Quackity. Bye!" "Bye, Sap!" Quackity ends the phone call.
Sapnap pulls his headset back on and unmutes himself. "I'm back" Sapnap mentions. "Who was that?" Dream questions curiously. Sapnap hums, "It was a really friend from college." "Oh?" Dream responds, unsure of if Sapnap is happy or upset. Sapnap only replies with a "mhm."
"Do you need to talk about it?" Dream asks softly. Sapnap thinks for a minute, shutting his eyes and sighing as he does so. "Y-Yeah, actually. Can I come in there?" Sapnap answers. "Yeah, come on in" Dream understands Sapnap prefers face-to-face talks.
A few seconds later, Sapnap knocks on Dream's bedroom door. "Come in!" Dream calls, then watches Sapnap hesitantly walk through the door. Dream's features soften at the sight of him. "What is it?" he encourages Sapnap to open up. Sapnap exhales deeply; he physically looks like a weight is on his shoulders. "The guy who called me, my college friend and roommate?" Sapnap starts. Dream nods. "He told me him and another one of our old college friends were talking, and they want to throw a reunion party. They miss us all being together, and I miss them all too! Plus, it's been two years since we've all been together, but-" Sapnap rambles. Dream interrupts him, "But Karl was a part of the group, and he might be there." Sapnap slowly closes his parted lips and nods.
Sapnap moves and falls onto Dream's bed. "What do I do?" he asks. Dream furrows his eyebrows as he thinks. He slightly winces as he looks at Sapnap. "Honestly?" he questions. Sapnap sits up, a frown on his face, and nods. "I would go. You haven't seen them in two years, and if Karl does go, you can ignore him. You'll most likely be too focused on your other friends to even care about him. You guys can catch up, and you won't have to say a thing to Karl" Dream answers.
Sapnap's frown deepens. He falls back onto the bed dramatically. "I knew you were going to say that" he sighs. Dream chuckles, "Consider it." Sapnap gives him a thumbs up since Dream can't see his face. Sapnap stares at the ceiling, then squeezes his eyes shut for a moment. He sighs again and sits up. "You're right, though. I shouldn't let him stop me from seeing them" Sapnap laments. Dream nods with a warm smile on his face.
"What if he is there, though? What if he tries to speak to me?" Sapnap worries. "You can either ignore him, or speak to him. It's as easy as that. Do what you can handle and what you think is best" Dream assures. Sapnap casts his gaze to the floor, but he nods. "Okay, thank you, Dream" Sapnap gets up and goes to the door. "So you're gonna go?" Dream asks. Sapnap nods and a small smiles manages to appear on his face, "I am. Back to Minecraft?" Dream grins, "Back to Minecraft!"
