It's the day before the reunion, and Sapnap is already having a rough time. He was anxious all night thinking about the possibilities with the reunion, so he didn't get much sleep. Then, he had to get up at 7 in the morning for his flight at 8:45am. The flight is going to take around five hours, but because of the stop they make, it'll be even longer.

Thus, he is very grumpy at the series of events, which is why he almost punched Dream when he woke him up at 7am. And why he constantly groaned and sighed while finishing packing his necessities. And frowned—basically pouted—at Dream when he told Sapnap it was time to leave for the airport.

On his way to the airport, Dream allowed him to nap as best as he could, just like when they went to get George. Sapnap kind of wishes that was what they were doing instead of the actual situation. He's excited to see his college best friends, but he still doesn't know what to do if he sees Karl. He can ignore him all he wants, but it's like he said before: Karl's always with him.

He doesn't even have to show up and Sapnap will be thinking about him. He's not even sure if he'd be more upset if Karl doesn't show up, or with if he does. He almost wants to play the fate card in his brain. He resists the urges to create metaphors and guess how their fate will play out.

Dream walks Sapnap into the airport and waits with him at check-in. They say their "see you in a few days" and give tight hugs. Sapnap demands Dream to tell George that "he's a bitch and should've woke up for the airport ride. Sapnap is a very crucial member of the DreamTeam and deserves the love and attention George got when he was at the airport." Dream laughed his ass off at him, but promised he would tell him. Then, Sapnap was off to his flight.

He was fortunately able to sleep through most of the flight, so his struggle to sleep last night played off well. When he was awake, he let it pass by with music and movies.

Finally, Sapnap's plane lands around 4:46pm. He gets off, gets his luggage, then takes an uber to his hotel. He manages to unpack all of his luggage, thankful it's only a few outfits since he's staying about a week. He shoots Quackity a text letting him know he's in California and he's going to crash even more. Quackity tells him to rest up, he deserves it, and he's excited to see him tomorrow. Sapnap watches YouTube for a little while, eats dinner when it's time, then passes out for the rest of the night due to jet lag.

Surprisingly, the reunion was held a few blocks away from Sapnap's hotel. He made sure it was close to everyone when booking it, but he didn't realize it was actually that close.

It isn't that cold in California, so Sapnap decided to just wear a grey sweatshirt and light-wash jeans. Due to how close the place is and the nice air, Sapnap decided to walk there. He used to walk all the time in college (and with Karl), so it isn't too much of a hassle. He'd much rather walk than deal with the traffic in another uber, nor does he thinks it's smart to even get an uber when the place is so close.

Once he sees the park where the reunion is held at, his steps slow down. He slowly walks towards the picnic bench the group has set up at, and he sucks in a breath. His eyes quickly scan over who is already there and when he doesn't see Karl, the breath releases gently. A smile forms on his face as he takes in everyone in front of him.

Tina lifts her head from where it rests on her hand. She looks up and her eyes lock with Sapnap's. Her face automatically brightens, "Sapnap!" The other two turn around to look at where she is facing. Grins spread across their faces and they all start to scream their greetings. Sapnap holds out his arms and allows Tina to crash into his chest. She gives him a tight squeeze and it is honestly like a breath of fresh air for Sapnap.
"I missed you, Sapnap! You abandoned lil' Tina" she jokes playfully, smiling and nudging him to assure to Sapnap she doesn't mean it.
"I missed you too!" he beams.

Brooke is next to wrap her arms around Sapnap. She's always been closer with Tina and Karl, but they still mean a lot to each other.
"I missed you, dude. How's it like being famous?" she laughs softly. Sapnap rolls his eyes, "Haha. Dream's the famous one. Quackity too." Quackity's eyes widen at the mention of him.
"Okay, but you're moving up. You'll be at my level in no time" Quackity assures.
"Yeah, you do have 1 million subscribers! People do love you, Sap" Tina encourages.

Sapnap waves his hand to dismiss their comments. He pulls Quackity into a hug.
"I missed you, bro. I'm glad you guys set this up. It's good to have everyone back together, even if it's for a short time" Sapnap states. Tina frowns slightly, "Almost everyone." Sapnap frowns and scratches the back of his neck.
"Right, where is...Karl?"  Sapnap asks, pausing before he says his name like it's forbidden to say.

Quackity shrugs, "Last I heard from him was yesterday."
"Saying he was here?" Sapnap questions eagerly. Quackity sighs, shifting his gaze away from Sapnap.
"He's in California? He's coming?" questions spew out of Sapnap's mouth. He moves to sit down on the bench. Tina rubs his back, "Are you gonna be okay, Sappy Nappy?" Sapnap chuckle at the nickname, which surprises himself. Tina was the only one to use the nickname and make him smile, and maybe Karl.

Sapnap takes a deep breath, "Yeah, I will be. Me and Dream already discussed this."
"You sure you've got this?" Quackity questions, his eyes focused on something in the distance. Sapnap looks up at him, "Why?"
"He's here" Brooke answers.

It feels like slow motion. Sapnap standing up, feeling like his stomach is in his throat. Everyone turning around to look at him. Karl making his final steps over to them. He stops six feet away from Sapnap, but Sapnap can still feel him over his shoulder. Sapnap doesn't turn, he stays focused on his white vans. He barely picks up Karl's voice as he greets everyone and gives them hugs. Everyone else cheers at his presence, and Sapnap envies them.

He's got this. He takes a deep breath again and turns around. Karl's already staring at him. Their eyes meet like they did a few weeks ago. Sapnap can still see the pain in his grey-blue eyes. Can Karl see it in his too?

"Hi" Karl speaks, but it comes out too soft. He clears his throat and manages a small smile. Sapnap plummets. His eyes scan Karl's features; he looks him up and down, but focuses on his face. Sapnap speaks.

"You cut your hair again" he notes. Karl's face falls.
"I acted on impulse" he mentions.

Sapnap isn't sure if he's referring to the hair or something else, or both.
