"Don't worry he said. These two are going to make us, he said!" Benny threw his arms in the air in frustration. All this case had proceeded to do was give him a heart attack thinking that the worst of the worst was going to happen.
"To be fair," Will put a finger up to him. "I never said that they weren't going to have some bumps in the road."
They were just finishing watching the fight that the new couple was having in that sports car. No one else was there but them in those deserted streets. Valentino had drove to a street that was practically abandoned, speeding faster than their eyes could see at some points. But, if there was one thing that many didn't know about both Cupids and Anticupids, it was that they had some great eyes. And some great ears, especially when it involved their clients.
"Okay, in all honesty," Sarah interrupted the two cupid's debate, smiling like a madwoman. "That car ride looked like something off from a damn roller coaster, and now I wish I was in it."
"That did look really cool," Benny smiled. He used to love cars when he was mortal. He was the type to speed everywhere. He was surprised he hadn't gotten his license revoked during his short mortal years. He would have loved to be a passenger to that light pink sports car.
"That's what I was thinking," Will smiled with them all. "That Corvette can sure fly."
The fight wasn't anything that he was expecting. They could all see the signs that something was going to happen, but none of them expected it to almost break them up already. If they did, Will and Benny might have done something else to try and resolve it before it got that bad. But they didn't know. It wasn't like they could find anything in the filing department. They looked through countless files that had links to these two and still couldn't find anything that would help either of them in their endeavors. They were instead, having to wait on Cassandra to do her magic with requests and paperwork. Will knew that she could do it.
He was just a little bit worried about how long it might take. This was the first case in a while he was having to go in almost blindly with. And man, was it really a roller coaster.
"This is horrible," Benny shook his head. "We shouldn't have brought these two together, Will. This was a bad idea from the start."
How could these two be destined for each other, like Will thought, if they were already this bad off? If they were fighting two weeks into a relationship, that was a bad sign that they weren't compatible with each other at all. He wasn't sure who would be compatible with Valentino. The man was a hot head that didn't like others. He truly was impossible.
"You can't give up just yet, Benny," Will said. "These two are on a rough patch, but their recovery was pretty quick."
"It was," Justin said, looking at the couple. Instead of smiling with the rest of the friends, though, he was frowning. He had made a promise to Sarah that he would punish Casimir the second that he started his old stalking ways. And walking around Valentino's work randomly counted as that, too. But every time he thought it was stalking, he would see Valentino call him and ask him how he was or small things like that. Whenever he would, Casimir would walk away, back to his apartment or to his car to head to somewhere for his work. He relaxed when Valentino talked. It was still the characteristics of stalking, but it wasn't bad enough for him to punish him just yet.
Until just then, that was.
He was this close to shooting the man right after Valentino walked out. He was this close to shooting his arrow to start the bout of bad luck and go on with his job of revenge. As much as it was going to pain him to do so, he was close to fulfilling that promise he made to his coworker. He had the arrow aimed right at him, right when Valentino shut the door with a soft thud and he was left all by himself. He was just a second away from letting go of his bow and letting it fly.
