Casimir walked down the streets on another lonely night. This time, it wasn't as late as the last times he walked around aimlessly. He shouldn't be that lonely. This was one of the few nights that he spent alone this week. It had been sweet and nice to finally have someone like Valentino around. He could see himself with him for a long time.
But, for some reason, he still got haunted by his memories. They decided to come back that night, at his weakest moment, just as all bad things did. He still wasn't over her. He could never get over her. No matter how many good things that happened, he still had days like these. Days when he would see her twirling around, laughing at something goofy that they were talking about. He could still see her smile when their eyes met.
There were so many good memories. They came to him so vividly. It was like it was happening right next to him. He could still see her walking with him, arm hooked into his as she talked about how much she wished she lived somewhere that snowed. They traveled the most in the winter because of how many weddings loved to happen during then. She loved when they went up north. They had plenty of fun memories in the snow.
He cried so much over her. He couldn't believe how many times that he cried over her. He had so many days where he had stayed in bed the past year, just thinking about all those memories with her. They overloaded his thoughts to the point of driving him mad. He was mad. At least, he had been at one point. It wasn't a fun experience.
He'd still get the urge to go to Miami and see her. It shocked him that Mrs. Hyatt was happy with their separation. She said that he looked like he was happier. He didn't understand why. He wasn't sure if he was truly happy where he was in his life. He was twenty-six and having to start all over with a new relationship after being with someone for four years. It wasn't as bad as some people who divorce after being wed for twenty years or more, but it still wasn't a good feeling.
They said that you couldn't fall out of love until you loved someone else. But did that mean that he wasn't in love? Could this love truly help him?
All of these thoughts about his ex was starting to make him think about how his relationship with Valentino. Was he really giving him his all if he still wound up with this predicament? It made this all more confusing. Because it still hurt, but he had no idea what he'd do without Valentino. There were so many questions he had. And emotions never had set answers.
He sighed as he walked around the downtown area again. He wanted to call Valentino and see how he was doing, but he was busy with his brother that night. Casimir couldn't take up all of his time. Him and his ex never spent a second away from each other. He loved it, but, at the same time, it was a little exhausting being around someone every second of every day. He liked being with Valentino. He didn't realize just how good it was to have some time apart from each other. It made the times that they were together all the sweeter.
"You hit me with a dart, you fucker!"
A bar in downtown caught his attention. There were still plenty of stores open that time in the night, including the clubs and bars. There were always fun events going on, even on weekdays. The bars were full of people drinking away their sorrows or just trying to have fun. Casimir didn't like drinking too much, but he liked walking past the bars. It was nice hearing all the laughter that would blast through the doors as he passed by.
"You were the one who didn't look!" the laughter of one voice made him look through the crowd some more. The bar had an outside seating area. And, even thought it was winter, there were still plenty of people drinking in the cold chill that came that night.
"You didn't even give a warning," one old man yelled at another. He was standing up by the dart board, yelling at one who was sitting down, laughing his ass off at nothing at all.
