"Lights?" Will asked.
"Check!"
"Camera?"
"Don't you know it!" Larry answered with a big smile on his face.
"Perfect!" he put his hands on his hips. "This is going to be the greatest party I've done yet!"
"What theme are you going for this time?" Sarah asked, looking around the room didn't tell her too much. The breakroom was still all done up for the silly gameshow that they still had yet to finish. She had a feeling that Will was trying to get everyone to forget about it because he really didn't know what the grand prize for that was actually going to be.
"I'm thinking of doing a live party theme," Will said. "Already got the strobe lights in place along with the cameras. Now all I need is to figure out who to have as the DJ."
"Ooo!" Benny jumped in excitement. "Can we have a ball drop? Like on New Years? There's so many live concert thingies around New Years Eve!"
"We could," Will smiled. "But that's already over with."
"Awww!" the blond whined. "Isn't it New Years somewhere around the world?"
"That's 5 o'clock," Sarah laughed. "The whole 'it's 5 o'clock somewhere' saying is about drinking, not New Years."
"There's a Chinese New Year," Will said. "But that already passed. Sorry Benny, maybe next time we'll have a New Years party."
"Man," he crossed his arms and plopped down on a chair. "This sucks."
"Hey, count me in for the New Years party!" Larry hollered from a latter. "I know just where to find a ball drop for a party like that."
"See!" Benny sprang back up. "We could totally still do it!"
"Do what exactly?" Eros walked into the breakroom, making all the cupids and anticupids alike freeze in place. The last thing they wanted was to get yelled at again. Benny especially. He hated getting yelled at by the man, and it happened so much before this. Then they almost got yelled at again when Eros discovered this case, and now he was here.
"Throw a party!" Will smiled at him.
"Did I agree to there being a party?" he crossed his arms and raised his brow.
"It's to celebrate Casimir and Valentino's success!" Larry told the boss. He wasn't in the deep end with him, so he decided that he wouldn't get in as much trouble saying it than the two trouble makers of the cupid world. He had to vouch for them somehow.
"That's right," Eros smiled a bit, looking at Will and Benny. "You two are going to finish your second successful case."
"Yup," Will turned on the TV to show the two lovebirds in action. "We have about a month until they'll have been together for the allotted time."
Every relationship that's started with a cupid on it has a six-month time frame. If the cupid can keep the relationship going for six months, then the case is considered done and they have to move onto another one. Because of this, they typically have multiple cases to work with. But Benny and Will were special, because they were still being tested whether they got out of the demotion zone or not.
Will quite enjoyed it, actually. It was great to be able to focus on one couple rather than a bunch all at once. This way he was able to really start to love the people he was putting together even more.
It just made it sad when he had to say goodbye. He was really hoping that he wouldn't cry this time, but he could already feel the tears coming.
Ah, he loved love so much.
