He really didn't want to go. He wanted to simply stay in Amor forever, without any reason to leave this lovely town that he had been able to start a new life in. He had made new friends and a new name for himself in this great city.

If it were any other time in his life, he would be shocked to even think that. He had never been a homebody. He loved his career because it allowed him to travel all around the world. There were so many new things that he had the pleasure of seeing and experiencing because of his job. You just never knew where you might end up for a wedding, and he always loved a challenge.

From Paris to Rome, to even parts of the jungle or the Amazon Forest, couples went all out with their weddings. Staying home just wasn't an option when you had the money and the love of your life that you were anchoring down. And it was his job to make sure that their dreams came true.

This time it wasn't as exciting as going across the ocean. He wasn't even going out of the country this time. Not to say that America didn't have some great locations for weddings. It just wasn't as wild as a jungle or a frozen tundra.

That wedding was probably the coldest one he ever went to.

No. This client was actually having their wedding in the lovely state of Maine. The beautiful state of both seafood and early mornings was where he needed to oversee a wedding for the long-term couple that had been paying him to help them their happily ever after. They wanted it to be the most grandiose event to start off their happily ever after. It had been Casimir's job to help them plan it for years and now he's going to make sure that all the planning went into fruition perfectly.

He just wished that he didn't have to go alone this time. It was usually the client's decision whether they thought he should attend to keep everything in order. Most of the time they would invite him just to enjoy himself. But there was always the instance where the nervous bride would need his help to make sure that everything went well.

Any other time he would have looked forward to this. He had spent ages preparing it, after all. He should be excited rather than dreading it. But this was the first time that he had to go while leaving someone behind. His ex always went with him on his work adventures. She was his partner in a sense. When they had broken up, he had gotten used to going on these trips by himself. But now he had someone at home that wasn't able to come with him. Valentino couldn't take the time off so suddenly. Casimir wasn't even sure if he wanted to.

He wished that Valentino could accompany him. Then again, maybe it was best. Then he wouldn't have to deal with hearing these clients talk about his ex. That was another thing that Casimir was dreading. No matter how much he tried to get over his past, it always seemed to come back to him. That was why he wished to stay in Amor. It was his safe haven from all the people asking their questions. He had been with his ex for so long that all his prior clients knew her, along with all of his contacts, too. She really knew how to make a mark on his life.

She really knew how to make it hurt.

"You don't look excited," Valentino told him. It was on the drive to the airport. Thankfully, he offered to drive him there.

"Of course, I am," he told him. "Maine is a beautiful place."

"It is," Valentino frowned a bit. "So, why are you upset about going there?"

Casimir sighed. He hadn't told Valentino much about his past, and neither did Valentino. But that didn't mean that they didn't understand each other. That was one thing that they had learned quickly from being together. And Casimir was enjoying that about him. Valentino could read body language just as good as him when he was in a good mood. Sometimes when he was upset, he couldn't seem to read him that well.
