He was going to blow a fuse.
No.
He was going to blow a gasket.
No.
He was going to somehow turn himself into a woman, go all the way down there, and slap someone.
And not just anyone.
"I'm sorry, Justin," Oliver raced after him. "If I had known this was going to happen, I would have asked Mrs. Cassandra to prioritize it more."
"You didn't know," Justin shook his head, speeding through the hallways. "No one did."
He couldn't believe this! He couldn't believe what he had just witnessed, and what he had been able to find in this file that acted like the missing piece to the puzzle that was Casimir's life. His sneaking suspicion that he had in the beginning of this mess saved this innocent man from anything worse coming his way.
"You know," Benny said. "For some reason, I pictured her to be a blonde."
"Anybody can be crazy," Sarah said. "It doesn't matter the hair color or even the gender for that matter."
"And it seems like Casimir hit the jackpot," Will said, looking at Justin. "Are you actually going to do it?"
"Yup," he said, his shoulders squared. "I have a point to prove."
And a reputation to get back. All the Anticupids had been looking at Sarah and Justin like they were walking time bombs, just waiting to get fired or demoted. The place he used to feel the most comfortable in was now leaving him tense. He had been the one that everyone had high hopes for as he had an almost perfect score so far with his cases, but that changed as soon as they started this one. And it was time to change.
"Wait," Benny asked, almost stopping in his tracks. "What is he doing?"
"It better not be what I'm thinking," Sarah said. With the direction they were going, it certainly seemed like it. She didn't exactly like this plan that she was certain Justin was already devising in his head, but she was going to have to back him up on it. This was her case too, after all. And she was going to have to defend it.
"Come on, Benny," Will clasped his friend's shoulder. "I think it's time we help Oliver get back. He might get lost if we just leave him here."
"I can find my way back," the young cupid argued. He was new, but he still knew his way around enough to get back to the filing department.
"Just in case," Will winked at him. Then he looked over to Justin. "Good luck."
Justin nodded as the three left. It was right when they got to the Anticupid department. On the opposing side of the Cupid department, both agencies had plenty of space for all the important things they needed to do. Love and revengeful love came hand and hand. Both were just as important.
But the Cupids didn't come over to their department. Everything there was serious, the halls as quiet as could be. Most just went to the cupid area when they wanted to relax and have some fun.
Justin went in there this time with shoulders squared and his head held high. With all the people that gave him and Sarah strange looks, he ignored them, making sure to not even meet their eyes. Sarah was the only one who followed him through these quiet halls. She didn't like where they were going, especially after the verbal beating she had gotten not too long ago, but she had to this time. This was important.
Through the halls, down the elevator, and to the deepest part of the department was the office to their boss. Normally, every time he had been sent there it had been to praise him, as their boss did to all of them who were successful. That was why they weren't as afraid of him as the Cupids were to Mr. Eros. As much as it seemed like he was angry all the time, he really wasn't.
