THIRTY

"What the hell?" Hope and I pause as we walk into her room to see Alyssa and Jed making out on Hopes bed. "Are you blind? I spelled the knob to do not disturb." I look down not saying a word, I was supposed to be keeping my emotions in check also I didn't really have any right to get mad at the two of them. "I need my chemistry of magic textbook. And more importantly, why are you on my bed?"

"I thought it'd be nice if it saw some action."

"I'm sorry, Hope." Jed says as he's walked over to the door, I feel him glance at me but I do not look up until he leaves. It shouldn't but it did still hurt to see them together, it reminded me of the first time I caught him cheating on me with her. "I'm crashing at Landon's." Hope says grabbing my hand and walking to the door. "Have fun holding hands."

"I hate her so much." I complain making Hope nod, "I understand why." Alyssa hadn't exactly gotten on Hope's good side.

"I swear she makes it so hard to be nice to her."

"Uh, welcome to my presentation. I'm supposed to talk about my coven, but I don't have one. And I've always wondered why I don't fit in or why I'm bad at magic." It was coven day, my least favourite day of the year. Right now wade was giving us his presentation.

"Because you got admitted here due to a clerical error?" Alyssa says interrupting him and making everyone laugh, almost everyone, I did not find this funny. I liked wade, he was nice to everyone and I hated Alyssa and her little mean girl act.

"But I've done some research and I think I have an answer. I've been misdiagnosed. I'm not a witch, I'm a fairy." This was questionable but I still don't laugh. "I know it's out there, um but fairies enjoy honey, they're incredibly tidy, and they love to sing. Uh, just like me. Uh, I also never knew my parents, so maybe they were eaten by Malivore."

"Maybe you could be eaten by Malivore so we can forget your whole presentation." I roll my eyes and get up as I glare at her, "shut the hell up Alyssa, the only person we wish Malivore would devour is you." Hope pulls me back into my seat as Emma looks at me in disbelief.

"Does-does anyone else see-"
"A waste of fairy space?" I frown as wade's face drops and he runs away. "That's detention, Alyssa."

"Do you even work here?"
"I do today."
"Fine."
"It couldn't be worse than this."

"I don't know. Being alone in a room with you? As your roommate, that sounds like hell." Hope says and this time I actually laugh."

"So we are going to try a meditative exercise to calm our nerves."

"Some hurt feelings, and this is what we're doing? It's no wonder I have to do everything myself." Ok wow I don't know where Hope had suddenly developed her attitude. "Sounds like this will be especially helpful for some of us. Now close your eyes. Focus on your breathing and embrace the silence."

"Emma, could I borrow you for a sec?" Lizzie bursts in disrupting the silence. "We're in the middle of something."

"So am I, and my thing doesn't include, like, "Kum-Bah-Yah" circle time." She says making me snort. LSit. You and your sister should have been here from the start. Again. Eyes closed. Focus on the silence." Speaking of sisters mine should've been here too but she was off on dad research.

"Thank you." Emma says as Lizzie scrapes her chair as loudly as she can to join us. "Eyes closed. Focus on the silence. Cessabit orbis. I've summoned a sphere. It represents your collective thoughts and emotions. Our goal is to keep it a calm green that represents serenity and peace of mind."
