-Airmed-

I woke up to my alarm going off. Slowly I opened my eyes and stretched. I sat up and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes.

I let out a loud sigh and looked over at my phone. The dim-lit screen blinking 5 am. I swung my legs off the bed and stood up silencing my phone. I went to the bathroom to start my morning routine. Once finished I grabbed my backpack full of my essentials and whatever clothes I could fit in there.

I ran down the stairs, seeing that Michael was already standing there talking to my father and stepmother. They all stopped talking and looked up at me.

"Ah, there is the doll." Michael teased. I narrowed my eyes trying to process what he just called me.

"Doll?" My meek voice slipped out.

"Yes since your hero name is Voodoo Doll, I guess I need to start calling you Doll for short."

"Oh...okay?" I walked down that stairs, wrapping my hands around the straps.

My father hugged me. "If you need help don't hesitate to call okay Airmed." I hugged him back. "I will." Once he let go, it looked like he was once saddened that I was leaving.

My stepmother pulled me into her arms and hugged me. "Remember, that you are only there to become a "hero" mocked the word hero but she quickly let me go and smiled at me. "Make a difference dear." I shook under her hand on my shoulder. I nodded quickly and took a step back and bumped into Michael.

I turned my head towards him. He place his hand on my shoulder and pulled me close to him. "Don't worry, she's in good hands from here and out." I bit my lip but took whatever opportunity to get out of this prison.

I smiled and nodded happily. "I'll have to put my trust into you, Mr. Miller. Hopefully, I can be of some use to you!" I cheered. I could hear Serena scoff at the top of the stairs but no one brought attention to her.

I opened the front door and was ready to go. I took a step. outside and walked to the sidewalk. I took in a deep breath and turned around. Even though the sun was nearly peeking out the large white California split house still looked haunting to me, beckoning me to come back inside to hide in my room. But not anymore. Now I am finally free.

Michael stood beside me. "Are you gonna miss this place?" I felt like his question was a loaded one. But I answered truthfully.

"Sadly I am not. I....really..." I was trying to put my thoughts into words. "Belong here. I don't fit in with the quirks my father is needing. So I want to go where I am needed." I turned and saw a limo pull up and parked on the side of the street.

The back door opened with an ogre of a man. He was built with muscles, that made his spandex of red white, and blue tent on them. He had blond hair sticking up and dark blue eyes. He raised his hand to give me a salute.

"Ah, young Airmed!" From that voice, I knew who it was. "You might not know-"

"You're Almight!" I was surprised and ran up to the man.  He looked down at me, standing in front of him he towered over my 5 foot 6 body. He dropped his hand and smiled.

"What are you doing here?" I asked tilting my head.

"Ah about that." He looked up to Michael. "Well, I was making sure you were to travel safely to the airport." He reached into his pockets and pulled out a slip of paper with blue printing on it. "This is your ticket. I already got your emails, and you'll be staying with Iron Bull, and your hero name is Voodoo Doll." He handed me the papers.
"Though Voodoo Doll sounds strange it's a name that will stand out."

Even though I hated the name my father pick for me to be a hero, it seems like it would be a good fit anyways.

"I believe the healer Voodoo Doll would be the best that there is." Almight smiled down at me.
