I ran down the hall and was about to run to my room when I bumped into Megumi.

"Hey, Rei-" I ran past her and slammed my door. My back slid down the doors as my hands ran through my hair gripping it.

"No....no why did I do that?!" I was screaming at myself. I questioned everything. "He.....he's just gonna hurt me like the others!" I dug my finger into my head almost breaking the skin with my nails.

A knock at the door broke me out of my self-pity trance. I looked around to the empty room and there was a knock again. Knowing it was probably Megumi I slowly stood up and tried to calm myself.

After letting out all my anxiety in a sigh I opened the door. There stood Megumi. "Heeeeey? You okay?"

I nodded knowing she wasn't going to drop it. "Are you sure? You like ran past me as something happened." I shook my head and smiled at her.

"It's just been a long day. I learned not to take a job from Shino's friend." I saw her fold her arms and sighed.

"I could have told you that." She rolled her eyes and then looked me over. "So how did you get out of it?"

I tilt my head and gave her a confused look. "I mean how did you get out of that job? Usually, Li does some shady stuff to the girls he hires. And all of them circum to his job or they usually leave with a bad taste in their mouth of what's he's done." She looked at me long and hard. "But him being a terf Lord around here, us women have no say against him."

I looked at her, unable to tell her the truth about what happened to Li. I nodded and then bit my lip. "Yeah well I had someone come with me, and well we left before we go too far in." I chewed on my cheek. "He felt like something was off so we left." Megumi tilt her head and narrowed her eyes.

"Who did you go with." Once again I wasn't sure if I could tell her the truth, but I couldn't make up anything on the spot. "It was the neighbor a few doors down. The man was dressed in all black. Even though he looks mean he's nice." Meg just watched me.

"Oh?" She looked down the hall to Dabi's door. "Soooo how did you get cranky pants to go with you?" I felt like she was digging, and I didn't want her to find the answers she needed, or at least not right now.

"I gave him food this morning," I answered she looked back at me and gave me a smug look.

"Look at you already have men coming in for your cooking?" She teased. I rolled my eyes at her and then giggled slightly.

"Any who was there something you needed?" I asked trying to change the subject.

She looked at me and gave me a look like I'm hiding something but for once she dropped it. "Since your last job when down the drain, there is a man, going around looking for certain types of quirks people."

I narrowed my eyes thinking she was talking about USHA looking for me. "What kinda quirks?"

"Like some type of healing." She reached into her pocket and handed me a business card. Giran was the only thing written on it. I flipped it around to see if something else was written on the back but it was blank.

I looked back at Megumi. "I don't know much but maybe you should be wary of using your quirk. You know people here talk and you might be seeking out if this guy knows your quirk." I nodded and took her words to heart.

"Thank you. I'll keep that in mind Meg." She smiled and then turned to walk away but stopped. She turned to face me again.

"Let's go out tomorrow. Maybe at the park where we met? Chisake has been begging to go again." I couldn't help but smile.

"Of Course!" After that, she left. I watched her start walking down the stairs when a long sigh left me. I felt something fluffy dun past me and into my home. I already knew who it was and didn't bother to check.

I closed the door and walked over to my futon. I plopped on it and starfishes at it. Today was nothing but a total mess. I need a job but, if I'm not careful I would end up in the same situation as Li or even worse.

I laid my arm over my eyes and thought hard. The smell of burnt flesh and the sound of his screams made me shake in fear. But at the same time, I didn't feel remorse for him.

'am I changing?' I asked myself. I felt a small weight on my chest and I opened my eyes to Kashi. "Hey, buddy." I smiled as I started petting him. He let out his tiny but loud purrs.
With his purrs, I settled down and was able to close my eyes to fall asleep.

I sat on the couch, staring at the tv when I heard my phone ring. I rolled my eyes and landed on the caller ID. Viper my eyes widen. Usually, she never called unless she wanted to fuck.

I ignored the call and stood up to turn off the TV. My phone rang again. Either she needed a dick or something was the matter. I sighed it's been ages since I've been with her, but at the same time she wasn't going to stop unless I answered.

I gritted my teeth and answered, and the first that came out was a sultry hiss. "I needed you."

I smiled, with a smug chuckle. The thought of warmth wrapped around my dick seemed nice enough. It didn't help that it hasn't even been touched in months.

I could hear her smack her lips. "Meet me in our usual spot I'll be waiting." After that, there was a click and I shoved my phone into my pocket.

A wave of emotion hit. It was odd like guilt.  I shook my head and shoved the sourness down.

'what about Airmed?' my heart asked.

"Psh. I'm getting laid, you never worked before her, so you have no say." I growled at myself. I walked to my door and slammed it open and stormed out.
