Chapter Fifty-Five

It had been a seven days since they brought Luca home, so far he was settling alright. But for some reason the past two nights all he did was cry and cry and cry.

They fed him, burped him, changed him, talked to him, played with him but he was still crying none stop. They had decided to do bottles for the night feed just so Stefania didn't have to wake up every few hours to feed him.

It was now 3am, this was the forth time he'd woken them up crying. Danielle got up again and nursed him, she took him downstairs to find the thermometer. She checked his temperature again like they had done every night and it read normal. That did kind of ease her nerves a little but he was a still crying.

The blonde decided to take him to her office, She had barely slept so decided to do some work whilst she was awake. Luckily they had the office sound proofed for when she's doing actual music things. Danielle had the crying baby in her arms rocking him back and forth trying to calm him.

"Please baby, I don't understand why you're so upset. You're not hungry, you threw up all over me earlier so you've been winded, I've just changed you so your butt isn't wet... I don't understand baby boy" She whispered down to him feeling hopeless.

The stressed mother started to play some calming music quietly, John Mayer was kind of her and Stefania's thing. Luca stopped crying when he heard the song play but after a minute he started to cry again.

She had recently watched a tv show where skin to skin contact helps babies so she decided to give it a try (A/N we all know what show that is 😂). She took her shirt off leaving her in a bra and held him close to her chest.

The song playing was Gravity, he started to calm down slowly, the blonde started to sing to him which seemed to help even more.

"Gravity is working against me
And gravity wants to bring me down

As the song went on he started to open his eyes and blubber at his momma, Danielle continued singing to him hoping it was that that was making him not cry.

"Whoa, gravity, stay the hell away from me
Whoa, gravity has taken better men than me

Just keep me where the light is"

By the time she's finished he had fallen asleep again, he had finally stopped crying but who knows how long for.

The door crept open and Stefania walked in looking sleepy, "He likes that bambina" Stefania whispered.

Danielle spun the chair around, "I'm not sure if it's the music, me being half dressed or the singing" she sighed deeply.

"Pass him to me bambina, you look exhausted, go sleep for a while. I've got him"

"Are you saying I look bad?" Danielle asked raising both her eyebrows.

Stefania made her way over to them both and leaned down on the chair and kissed Danielle's head softy.

"You never look bad my love. I'm saying you look like a stressed out new mother who needs to sleep, so go to bed" Stefania said sternly. "He needs food soon anyway"

Danielle reluctantly stood up and handed him to Stefania. Stefania stopped her from walking away by holding her hand, "Kiss me first please?". Danielle gave her a little smile and reached up to kiss her, "I love you" Danielle whispered, "I love you too bambina, go get some sleep my love"

Stefania sat at Danielle's chair and started scrolling through her laptop, she ended up on Netflix for a bit until Luca woke up again. It was now 5am, but this time he didn't cry when he woke up, he just wanted feeding.
She decided to FaceTime her mother, she hadn't spoken to her parents properly since she was in labour.
