And, finished!
You hit send for the final time and smiled at your screen.
Three days after your Jungkook shoot, you were fulfilling your promises to yourself. You were going to take two weeks off photography and everything work-related.
You'd edited all pictures and sent them off and rescheduled one appointment next week for two weeks later. Any other bookings you'd received in the past three days had been pushed along. But since business was very slow, there was very limited scheduling to carry out.
The dating side of the plan was... well, non existent. But it had been three days! What did you really expect?
You powered off your laptop and turned off all work related app notifications. You'd already set up an out-of-office voicemail. You were now officially on your first ever vacation from photography.
You'd planned a few nights out with friends and, of course, scheduled some time with your parents. Other than that you were exited to explore the city a little or see where this little bit of freedom would take you.
It was getting dark out, but you'd been cramped in your flat all day, finishing errands and work. Fresh air was needed.
You brushed a comb through your hair and wrapped up warm. This was one of the few times you'd leave your house without your camera.
Your shoes were slipped on as you tapped your pockets, making sure you had your phone and keys. You then left the apartment and made your way to the bottom of the staircase.
Mrs Kim's bakery still had a light glowing, so you decided to pop in quickly.
The smell of fresh goods tickled your nostrils as you entered the warm haven. Gentle jazz was playing in the background, topping the cosy atmosphere.
Standing, hunched over a jar, behind the desk was Daeshim. Mrs Kim wasn't in your current eyesight, she must have been in the back.
'Daeshim! Your back,' you exclaimed, nearing the counter.
He looked up, alarmed by the sudden noise. His face softened again when he saw you standing opposite him.
'Oh hey Y/N, didn't see you come in here,' he said softly, patting his floured hands on his apron, leaving white streaks on his cloak.
'What's going on back there?' You asked, peeping over the counter.
'Ah the usual, kneading dough. I don't know how my mam stands it, I think I'm going crazy,' Daeshim joked, spinning his head around, imitating dizziness.
You giggled and said, 'You should think about getting some fresh air. Hell, that's what I'm doing now.'
You explained how you'd been cooped up in your apartment, finishing work for this is little vacation.
'Sounds like nice plan. God knows if I'll ever get to truly explore the city,' Daeshim added, returning to kneading the uncooked bread while sighing.
You felt pity, realising how tiring owning a bakery with no employees must be. Mrs Kim's eye bags had spread to her son, even from his recent arrival.
'You should explore the city, there are some special spots,' you said.
Daeshim raised his eyebrows and flopped his head, inferring he didn't have the time.
'I'll show you around, after the bakery's closed,' you spat out, trying to channel your inner outgoing self. She was deeply buried, but still present.
Daeshim looked up, his lifted eyebrows wrinkling his forehead.
'You'd give me a tour?' He asked, smiling at your offer.
'Of course, I know the best places,' you grinned, hunting for your phone, nestled in your pocket. 'Do you mind if I grab your number?'
'Damn, it's usually the other way around,' Daeshim laughed before giving you his phone number.
You blushed at his comment, this was pretty bold for you. After jotting his name in your phone, you smiled and promised you'd see him soon.
You then leant back on the bakery door and evacuated the premises. You waved through the window and collapsed onto a wall out of sight.
Was that a date?
It could have been a friend-date. But still, you'd initiated making plans with a new person, and for that you were pretty proud. That one small motion had made your day.
You smiled and continued on your walk. You thought of where you could go.
It was a Friday night, so ideally you wouldn't go into a bar-heavy location. Or anywhere too busy at night.
Instantly the park came into mind. It got pretty peaceful at this time and wasn't a ridiculous distance.
So you began skipping over, hearing music playing in the distance and seeing a group of girls hurrying out of their house. They looked like students who were on their way to a night out on the town. You smiled at them on your way past.
After a mindful wonder you reached the familiar park gates and pushed them open. You stalked around slowly, unsure of which path to take. You chose a lane and cosied up on a bench laying in the grass.
Your body weight collapsed onto the wooden planks and your neck stretched back to stare at the sky. No stars were to be seen, so you just closed your eyes and felt grateful to be in the outside air once again.
Controlled, deep breaths escaped your mouth as you truly sat there, just existing for a minute, your neck floating over the back of the bench.
Your peaceful ora was disrupted when you heard a snap of a twig. Your eyes darted open and you scanned your surroundings. It was almost completely dark at this time, so your caution was on full alert.
You continued looking, but once the silence fell again you tried to retain your original bubble.
But you felt eery, you sixth sense was screaming and your arm hairs were standing up. You didn't feel safe all of a sudden.
So you stood up, intending to wonder back to a well lit area. As you brushed your trousers down to dissolve any creases, you looked up and your whole body paused. Terror overcame your body as a dark figure emerge from the pitch black.
