Trap

'I'm so sorry,' you muttered after the silence went on for a little while longer. No other words of comfort came to the surface.

Jungkook shook his head lightly, 'Don't be, I'm sure everything will work itself out in the end.' He smiled at you, his eyes roaming your face. It was as if he was scanning you for information.

'Y/N I really don't want to unload any of this situation on you - I just want to make sure you're aware you're not involved at all, I promise,' he stated. 'I just want to get to know you and spend time with you, because, from what I've seen so far, you're really cool. I don't want to put any pressure on this, if this becomes anything - Sorry, this is really heavy for a first date.'

You smiled at his kind compliments and shuffled happily on the floor.

'So we're just having fun?' You asked.

'If that's ok with you?'Jungkook wondered nervously, staring into your soul.

You knew this should not have been ok with you. You should have run down that mountain right there and then. You should have had enough respect for yourself to scream 'no!' You should have seen all the problems this, obviously, would lead to.

You shouldn't have looked into his dark, forest eyes and fallen into the trap. You shouldn't have let him rotate his hand to intertwine his fingers with yours. You shouldn't have let the butterflies' flapping wings form a new pacemaker for your heart. You shouldn't have got lost in his eyes and whispered, 'I'm exited to spend more time with you, Jeon Jungkook.'

But, of course, the trap was disguised as a fairy tale, so you fell right in and did it all.

Jungkook beamed at your words. Your hands then separated to finish your lunch and make your way up to the climax of the hike, the summit of Bukhansan.

The food was lovely, and the thought Jungkook had put in made it taste even sweeter.

As you brushed your dress to remove any crumbs that had fallen during the meal, Jungkook stood up and began packing the boxes into his rucksack.

The last thing to be packed were the two square towels which had proved to be relatively comfortable chairs. At the very least, they had provided protection from the dusty stone floor.

You stood up, securing your coat more tightly around your upper half. Jungkook swung the bag onto his back and you both began the walk to the peak.

It was a short distance, the density of people as you got nearer increased, slowing your speed.

There was a small platform at the official summit, there was a small line of people waiting for others to be finished taking their photos. You joined the line, having a spot at the mountaintop within a minute or two.

Jungkook joined you on a medium sized, smooth rock. He reached for his phone in his coat and swiped left to open the camera app. You both got in frame by resting your cheek on Jungkook's shoulder, the padding of the coat providing a soft pillow for your icy face. Jungkook smiled down at you before quickly taking the picture. He then moved the camera down so you both could have a closer look.

It was an adorable photo, you both looked so cosy in your warm gear and happy in the other's company. You nodded and grinned at Jungkook after observing the photo.

'We look stunning,' you joked. Jungkook giggled and turned to face you the best he could on the narrow rock.

'You've looked gorgeous all day,' Jungkook muttered, glancing down at your lips.

Your heartbeat sped up, again, as you found yourself leaning in, your pupils switching between his chocolate eyes and his silky lips. He mirrored your movement and you met him halfway, his lips crashing into yours.

You were transported back to the night before, the first time your lips had met. The excitement and passion was still there. The warmth, the comfort - it all felt so familiar, yet so foreign. You felt like you were spinning around in the sky and he was protecting your from any danger.

You and him were the only beings on the mountain. Your hair flew in the breeze and -

'Hey! You've been hogging this spot for a good while, can we take our picture now?' A stranger yelled from below, interrupting your thoughts and actions.

You and Jungkook quickly separated at the noise, a little embarrassed. But the sparks Jungkook had injected into you were far more powerful and erased all awkwardness you felt.

Jungkook hoped down from the rock first, spinning around once he made contact with the floor. He smiled in a goofy manner and raised his eyebrows at you, stretching his hand out to help your down.

You grabbed his palm and jumped down. You said your apologies to the stranger and made your way down from the crowded peak.

Jungkook never let go of your hand.

Not when he tripped over a few pebbles.

Not when he definitely should have been using both hands to hold onto the rope at a narrow part of the path.

Not when you started to get sweaty and knew for sure he was feeling some moistness from your palm to his.

But, finally when you reached his car at the end of the hike, his hand separated from yours and dragged you in for a bear hug, celebrating the success of reaching the end.

'We did it!' Jungkook exclaimed happily, releasing you from his grasp. His cheeks were flushed from the exercise, giving him a cute, pink glow. 'Now, let me take you home.'

You made your way back to the passenger seat, sad the date was coming to an end. But it had been an amazing and creative date, and you knew it was the first of many.

You both relaxed on the drive back, melting in the seats and listening to the mid-afternoon radio. You felt a blister crying to be freed in your shoe, but you were too tired to listen to its wailing.

The car ride felt much shorter than the way up, within the blink of an eye Jungkook had pulled up to your apartment.

You unbuckled your seat belt and collected your things, opening and shutting the door on your way out.

You circled the car and landed in front of Jungkook's rolled down window. He looked up at you with his innocent eyes which pierced yours.

'I had such a good time, Jungkook,' you confessed, raising your voice over the street noise. 'Thank you so much for planning this, I'll return the favour next time.'

'So there'll be a next time?' Jungkook asked innocently, pushing up his eyebrows.

You smiled and slanted your face, 'I think so.'

You then lent down and moved part of your head into the open car window. You pressed your lips against Junkook's cheek for a second, conveying your gratitude.

As you resumed your upright position on the pavement, Jungkook said his final goodbyes with a smirk spread over his lips.

As he pulled up his window and drove away, you stood watching the car, almost jittery with glee.

You pushed down the chat about Jungkook and Bong-Cha in your mind, entirely focusing on every other part of the day.

Compressing the whole situation gave you contentment then and there, however, of course, the circumstance eventually caught up with you.
