Jungkook turned the boat around, which was a scary manoeuvre, but the river being almost empty calmed you. There were very minimal barricades he could have hit.

When he came back to join you on the balcony you pointed out where your high school was and Jungkook mentioned how his was a block away from yours. You began a conversation of all the spots you would hang out at, and many overlapped with his.

You both reminisced on your high school days and childhood, laughing at little things you had in common. It was a pleasant, easy chat and Jungkook felt like more of a friend by the time the yacht had arrived back at the marina.

Jungkook gestured you back into the helm as he navigated back to the spot you'd departed from. He managed to nestle closely to the other boats and was satisfied with his steering.

You took a final look at the inside of the palace as Jungkook checked all lights had been switched off. It was a truly beautiful boat and you'd never experienced anything this luxurious in your life before.

A cool breeze brushed your arms as you looked and saw Jungkook holding the door open for you. He smiled at your expression as you took an ending glance and made your way through the door.

The marina looked more awake than previously, with some fishermen prepping their gear in the boots of their vehicles. They hadn't changed into their uniforms yet, and they looked like they'd rather be enveloped in their warm beds than out in the cold.

As you made your way back to the car, you realised you had absolutely no idea what time it was. It was still very dark, but being winter, that didn't give much away. The motion of the fishermen hinted it was early morning?

You grabbed your phone and were educated that it was 3:30 am. Damn, the time had really flown.

Jungkook rustled the keys up from his pocket and unlocked his car. He jogged in front of your path to open the door for you.

What a gentleman.

You smiled, feeling like royalty, as you stooped to sit down. He gently pushed the door behind you and made his way to the driving seat.

'What time's your flight, Jungkook?' You asked, remembering he said it was an early morning one.

Jungkook reached for the seatbelt over his shoulder as he replied, '4:30, I'll get there in the next half hour.'

He then glanced at you, remembering this whole situation had evolved from you having no home for tonight.

'Is there anywhere I can drop you off?' Jungkook wondered, concerned about leaving you anywhere unsafe.

'There is my parents house, but they live out of the city,' you said, stating their address.

'Oh! That's just a little east of the airport. I can take you there no problem,' Jungkook said, putting his keys in the ignition and starting up the engine.

'Are you sure? I feel so guilty that you've been my taxi and entertainer all night.'

He grinned and said, 'I wasn't going to be doing anything else. Besides, I've enjoyed being your captain tonight.' He glanced at your beaming face and then back at the relatively empty road.

You both made some small talk and simply listened to the peacefulness of the city on your journey out of Seoul. Any fear you'd had at the beginning of the night had melted away. Jungkook had made great company for a night where the pavement might have been your mattress, if he hadn't showed up at the perfect moment.

After a reasonably short time, you navigated Jungkook down your parents street and showed him which driveway to pull up to. Your familiar childhood home came into view and installed a sense of comfort in you.

He then rotated his keys and turned to face you.

'I'm really glad you were my pre-airport company tonight, Y/N,' Jungkook smiled, his doe eyes staring into yours.

'I can't thank you enough,' you grinned back, making sure your bag was on your person. You broke the eye contact to open the door and stepped out. Your foot was completely stable as you were now entirely sober.

You crouched down to say a final goodbye.

'I hope I'll see you around,' you stated sincerely, feeling a little sadness that the night was over.

Jungkook's energy lowered as he responded, 'Yeah... I really hope so too.'

You nudged the door closed and waved through the reflective window.

Jungkook nodded his head at you and turned the car on again. You continued staring at his silhouette as he drove off, until he was out of sight.

A bucket of exhaustion tipped over your head and you wrapped your arms around yourself for warmth. It was then you realised you'd never taken his hoodie off and it was still keeping you cosy.

You breathed in his scent which was left on the drawstrings and tried to ignore the guilt being washed over you because of the butterflies dancing in your stomach.
