Your boots were beginning to rub the back of your feet and you prayed a blister would't form before you reached the end of the hike. You tried to distract yourself from the slight discomfort by fully immersing yourself in the conversation with Jungkook and the beautiful views.

The city below looked so distant and beautiful. Despite you knowing the morning was a very busy time, the streets looked so peaceful and enchanted.

The effortless chat with Jungkook was so relaxed and lifted you both up to a high point in the mountain. Your feet were beginning to bother you a little more by this point. Jungkook recognised your change in pace and slowed his walk down to a stop. He pulled you away from the path to a pretty smooth piece of rock with some patchy grass areas.

'Ok so, we're almost at the top here,' Jungkook spun around and pointed you up towards the peak of the mountain. It looked about 5 minutes away, you'd guessed. It was a lot more crowded, swarmed with hikers snapping photos of their loved ones at the summit, or panning the view.

'So I think now would be the perfect time for some energy,' Jungkook added, pushing his shoulder back to let a strap of his rucksack glide down, gently landing the bag on the floor.

You observed his actions as he unzipped the rucksack and pulled out a cooling bag.

'I made a quick snack for us before picking you up this morning,' Jungkook smiled. 'I couldn't fit an entire picnic blanket in, but I have these two squares of fabric.' He pulled out two small towels with paid pattern embroidered on them.

You beamed at his thoughtfulness as you accepted one of the towels and thanked him for this little surprise. Truthfully, you were starving at this point, having left the house in such a hurry, breakfast had been completely discarded.

You sat down opposite Jungkook on a smooth bit of stone as he opened the cooling bag and revealed two small plastic tubs.

'I really hope you don't have a very specific diet or allergies,' Jungkook grimaced, widening his eyes as he glanced up at you.

You smiled at his concern and assured him you didn't. You then opened your tub to reveal a cheese and salad wrap standing next to a small pastry and a little bottle of juice. You tilted your head and beamed at Jungkook.

'This is so sweet, I can't believe you prepared all of this.'

'It's really not much,' Jungkook muttered, embarrassed yet pleased. 'I have to be honest, the pastries are not homemade in the slightest.'

Both of you then tucked in, starting with the wrap. You almost swallowed it whole, your hunger driving you. You resisted the urge to inhale the food, remembering this was a first date. There isn't much more unattractive than a gross eater.

So you slowed the pace down and looked at your date. He was holding the wrap with his left hand, revealing something shiny on his fourth finger. His ring finger.

Was that... a wedding ring?

You didn't think the wedding had happened yet, well - you hadn't actually asked.

You cleared your throat and swallowed the remaining food.. 'That ring on your finger... is it a - ?' You stuttered uncomfortably, trailing off.

Jungkook raised his eyebrows and lifted his left hand up. You could have a better look at the piece of jewelry now.

Embarrassment covered you as you glanced at the ring and saw a Celtic ring which matched with his chain, clearly a decorative piece, not a wedding ring.

'This?' Jungkook queried, observing the Celtic ring. 'I bought it a while back - online I think?'

You nodded, 'Sorry, I thought it was a - wedding ring.' It was if the word "wedding" was a curse. It felt wrong to say as Jungkook looked down at it's mention. He put his food down and pushed his tongue into his cheek.
