'Are you very sure you want this?' Scarlett asked. Clara nodded. Today was her first day of school. In the past few days, she and Scarlett and Colin had gone to look at different schools. In total, they had been to four schools. At the second school they visited Clara immediately had a good feeling and so she decided to go to that school.

So today was Clara's first day at school and she sat tense in the car in the parking lot. "Do you have everything? Asked Scarlett, "I think so. Answered Clara. 'Then get going soon. Will you send me a message if you want to be picked up?' Inquiringly, Scarlett looked at the girl. 'I will. See you this afternoon.' Clara got out of the car and she walked to the entrance of the school building.

It was very crowded. There were many students walking around. Uncertainly, Clara walked through the hallways. She had no idea where to go. Clara was so impressed by the large space and the many people that she didn't realize she bumped into a boy. With a bang she fell to the floor.

"You okay? Clara looked up and she was looking straight into the face of a boy. Clara turned red. 'Yes, I'm fine.' The boy held out his hand and awkwardly Clara grabbed it. The boy helped her up. 'I've never seen you here before.' Said the boy. 'That may be true. This is my first day here.' Said Clara. 'Oh. Hence your British accent.' Laughed the boy. 'I'm from England yes.' Smiled Clara shyly. She looked at the boy from head to toe. Jax had blonde hair and beautiful, bright blue eyes.

'I'm Jax.' Introduced the boy. 'Clara.' Said Clara. 'Nice to meet you. What class are you in?' Asked Jax. Friendly he looked at her. 'I wrote it down.' Clara grabbed in her bag and she pulled out a piece of paper. She handed the piece of paper to Jax. Jax looked at the sheet of paper. 'Cool. You're in my class.' He said. 'Oh. Nice! Answered Clara as enthusiastically as possible.

'Are you coming to the classroom with me?' Asked Jax. Clara nodded and she walked behind Jax to their classroom. In the classroom there were already a number of students. Jax sat down with some boys without saying anything to her. Clara looked around the classroom. She sat down at a table at the front of the classroom.

Soon the classroom filled up and class began. At the beginning of class Clara was allowed to introduce herself to the class and then they started with math.

The class went by quickly and before Clara knew it, it was break time. Clara watched Jax leave the classroom without looking back at her. She sighed. Quickly she put her things in her bag and she walked to the restroom to have her break.

After Clara ate she washed her hands. She had ten more minutes of break time. Clara sighed. She decided to go look in the cafeteria anyway. "Hi, Clara right? A girl walked up to Clara. 'Yes right.' Answered Clara shyly. 'I'm Maddie.' Introduced the girl.

'Clara, but so you already knew that.' Answered Clara. 'Jax just told me about you.' Said Maddie. 'Oh. Positive I should hope?' Clara smiled shyly. 'Yes it was positive. I was just looking for you but I couldn't find you.' Said Maddie. 'Oh. Well I'm here now.' Replied Clara. Maddie smiled. 'Why don't you come and sit with me and my friends next break? We have a place to spare.' She said. 'That sounds like fun.'

The school day flew by and before Clara knew it, her first day of school was over. Clara grabbed her coat from her locker and she walked to the exit of the building. 'Clara, you will never believe who is in the parking lot.' Maddie came running towards her followed by Emily and Sarah.

At recess Clara had lunched together with Maddie, Emily and Sarah. All three of them were very nice to. They did, however, often talk about topics that Clara couldn't relate to. Boys, school, handsome teachers. Clara had always wondered if she should tell the girls about her family but still she decided not to. Soon they wouldn't like Colin or Scarlett or have something to say about them.

When Maddie asked about her family Clara had kept it short. She had recently lived in New York with her parents and sister. She wasn't lying but she wasn't completely honest either.

"Who's in the parking lot? Asked Clara. 'Scarlett Johansson! Exclaimed Maddie. 'Oh cool.' Replied Clara. She tried to respond as enthusiastically as possible. 'You have no idea who it is huh? Scarlett Johansson is the very best actress in the world. Come outside with me! Maddie dragged Clara outside with her.

In the parking lot, lots of students were standing around the car. Clara sighed softly. How was she supposed to get home now? She didn't want to get in when everyone was standing around it. 'I'm going to ask if she wants to take a picture with me.' Said Maddie. 'I'm going home. See you tomorrow.' Clara walked away.

After walking for fifteen minutes, a car suddenly stopped next to Clara. The window opened. 'Sorry. I just couldn't get all those kids off my back.' Scarlett apologized. 'It's okay.' Clara got into the car and they drove off towards home.

'And how was your first day at school?' Asked Scarlett, 'Nice!' Answered Clara cheerfully. 'Really, that's good to hear. Do you have any nice classmates?' Inquiringly, Scarlett looked aside. 'I haven't really talked to other students yet but most of them seem nice. I sat with Maddie, Emily and Sarah at recess they are a class higher than me.'

'And are they nice? Asked Scarlett. 'Yes. Although Maddie just freaked out when you were in the parking lot.' Told Clara. Scarlett chuckled. 'Sorry. Next time I'll park a little further away.' She promised.
