It was Tuesday morning and with a pounding headache, Clara opened her eyes. She groaned and she looked sleepily at her alarm clock to check what time it was. It was a quarter past eight. Clara cursed. She had to be at school in fifteen minutes.
Clara got out of her bed and she walked downstairs. She felt so lousy. Clara walked into the living room and there she found Scarlett. 'Hey honey. Good morning.' Said Scarlett. Clara didn't hear it. She felt so lousy. She wanted to grab something to keep her balance but she fell down and it went black before her eyes.
Scarlett was startled, "Colin! She shouted as she ran towards Clara. Colin came running down the stairs. 'What is it? He looked at Scarlett and he then saw Clara lying on the floor. 'She's passed out.' Said Scarlett. Colin bent down at her side. 'Clara? Clara, wake up.' Gently he tapped her cheek. 'Hmm.' Clara opened her eyes.
'Thank goodness, she's awake.' Relieved, Scarlett took a breath. Clara wanted to sit up but immediately she felt a stab of pain go through her head. 'Just stay down sweetheart.' Said Scarlett, 'What happened?' Asked Clara. 'You fainted.' Answered Colin. Concerned, he looked at Clara.
'Oh.' Clara didn't know what to say. 'Are you in pain anywhere?' Asked Scarlett, 'I have a really bad headache.' Answered Clara. Scarlett felt at the girl's forehead. 'No wonder. You have a fever.' She said. "Really? Asked Clara. Scarlett nodded. 'I'll call school that you won't come today.'
'I'll take you to bed. Can I lift you up?' Asked Colin. Clara nodded. Normally she wouldn't allow that but she felt so lousy that it didn't matter to her. Colin lifted her up and he carried Clara to her room. He put her to bed and meanwhile Scarlett walked into the bedroom with a glass of water and a paracetamol.
'I have some water here and a paracetamol.' Scarlett put it down on Clara's nightstand. 'Thank you.' Replied Clara weakly. 'Just try to get a good night's sleep then hopefully you'll feel a bit better later.' Said Scarlett. Clara nodded.
'I'm going to do some shopping. Is there anything else I can bring for you?' Colin asked. 'Make use of it. He never asks for this.' Whispered Scarlett smiling. Clara smiled weakly and she thought. 'I'm really hungry for strawberries.' She then said. 'It's not really the time of year for strawberries but I'll see if they're around.' Colin promised her. 'And for me please a chocolate bar.' Said Scarlett. Colin frowned but then shot a laugh. 'Any preference of flavour?'
'Oreo.' Replied Scarlett, 'It won't be like that for a change either. I'll bring you a bar.' Colin promised and then he walked out of the room. Scarlett and Clara were left alone. 'Is there anything else I can do for you?' Scarlett asked. Clara shook her head. 'Okay, then try to get some sleep. I'll be in my study.' Said Scarlett, 'Is good.' Clara closed her eyes and she fell asleep.

It was several hours later and Clara was feeling a lot better when she woke up. She looked at the alarm clock and she saw that it was now ten thirty. On her nightstand was still a glass of water and a paracetamol. Clara grabbed the glass and she took a sip.
The headache had thankfully subsided. Clara threw her blankets aside and she got out of bed. Her bare feet touched the cold ground and she shivered. She walked to her closet and she grabbed socks. If she hated anything it was cold feet. Clara put on her socks and then she walked to Scarlett's study.
The door was open and Clara stood in the doorway. Concentrating, Scarlett looked at the screen of her computer. Clara looked at Scarlett smiling. She was so focused. Clara couldn't hold back her laughter and she giggled softly. Scarlett heard it and she looked up.
'Hey honey. Are you feeling better? She turned to the side so she could see Clara clearly. 'Yeah. What are you doing? Asked Clara curiously. 'Come and see.' Scarlett beckoned her to grab a chair and come sit next to her. Clara grabbed a chair and she sat down next to Scarlett at the desk.
'Every year we have family weekend with the Johansson family and this year we want to go on vacation for the holidays.' Told Scarlett, 'What is a family weekend?' Asked Clara. 'That's when we go with all the family for a weekend of fun things to do. In the case of my family, we usually all go to a vacation park and spend the weekend there.' Scarlett explained. 'And this year you guys are going again?'
'That's kind of the idea. It's a bit last minute but the plan is to go in four weeks. That's at Christmas.' Told Scarlett, 'Oh that sounds nice.' Said Clara. 'I'm sure you're going to love it. Family weekend is one of the most fun weekends of the year.' Replied Scarlett enthusiastically. 'I'll go with you then?' Startled, Clara looked at Scarlett, 'Of course you're going! You're part of the family.'
'I don't know if that's a good idea.' Said Clara doubtfully. 'Hey, I get that you're excited but I'm sure you'll have a great time. My mom is really sweet and also my brothers are already asking about you constantly.' Said Scarlett. Clara got a pain in her stomach just from the idea. She didn't want to go to that family weekend at all. Scarlett could see from Clara that she wasn't excited.
'I understand that you are excited dear but you are not alone he. Colin, Rose and I are going too and you must meet my family at some point. I'm sure we'll all make it a fun weekend together and besides it's only four weeks away.'
'I know. I'll crawl into my bed for a while. I'm still not feeling quite fit.' Said Clara. 'Is good dear. I'll come and have a look in a moment.' Replied Scarlett. She gave Clara a kiss and Clara then walked back to her room.
