Seven months later..

'Is this even a good idea?' Asked Colin nervously, 'Yes of course this is a good idea. After all, we can't just let Clara's birthday pass us by.' Said Scarlett indignantly. 'Yes okay but with the little man there. Isn't this too busy for him?' Asked Colin doubtfully. 'I think he'll be fine and if not one of us will go in with him.' Replied Scarlett, 'Okay.' Colin nodded.

'Mom, shall I put Cosmo in the stroller?' Clara held the baby tightly in her arms. Exactly one month ago, her baby brother Cosmo had been born. Clara loved the baby and helped Scarlett and Colin whenever she could. Rose, too, was thrilled with her little brother. "What time are the visitors coming? Clara asked. She handed Cosmo to Scarlett.

Today was her fourteenth birthday. It was a sunny Saturday afternoon and today Scarlett and Colin their friends were coming. 'No idea dear. They'll be here any minute.' Replied Scarlett. Colin hung the last of the garlands under Scarlett's watchful eye.

'Clara, there are visitors!' Rose came walking into the garden and behind her walked Florence. 'Aunt Flo! Happy, Clara ran up to Florence and she gave her a hug. She hadn't seen Florence for several months so she was extra happy that she was there today for her birthday.

'Hey sweetheart. Happy birthday! Florence handed Clara a package. 'Thank you.' Clara unwrapped the present and she took out a beautiful necklace. 'Wow Flo it's beautiful. Thank you" she said. 'You're welcome. Shall I put it on? Asked Florence. 'Gladly.' Clara handed Florence the necklace and Florence put it on her. 'It looks beautiful on you.' Smiled Scarlett.

'Scarlett! Happy Florence walked up to Scarlett and she hugged her. 'Hey Florence. Long time no see.' She smiled. 'Indeed. I was so busy at work. How's little Cosmo? Florence asked. 'He's fine. He's sitting with Colin.' Scarlett looked at Colin who was sitting on a chair with Cosmo. Florence walked over and meanwhile Chris and Ashley walked into the garden.

'Where's the birthday boy?' Chris asked. 'Here! Clara walked up to Chris and Ashley. She gave them both a hug. 'Happy birthday sweetheart.'

Over summer vacation, she and Chris, Ashley and Elizabeth had gone to Disneyland. During that week, they had become much closer, and Clara had many fond memories from that week.

She was glad Chris and Ashley were there today, too. They were hopelessly in love and Clara thought they were very cute together. She wished them both all the happiness in the world.

We'll put the presents on the table then you can unwrap them later. Lizzie and Mary-Kate helped pay for it too and they'd like to be there when you unwrap it' Ashley said. 'All right.' Replied Clara. Ashley and Chris put the presents on the table and then they walked over to Scarlett and Colin to congratulate them on their daughter.

The garden slowly filled up. Tom Holland, Sebastian, Anthony, Lizzie, Mary-Kate, Ashley, Chris, Robert, Florence, Hailee, Jeremy and Mark were there and of her friends, Jack, Mckenna, Jodie, Elias, August, Lauren and Shay were there. In the past six months she had gained many new friends with whom she was very happy.

Clara received wonderful gifts from everyone and she felt so happy. She had never had such a fun birthday. Colin and Scarlett had gone out and decided to have a barbecue for dinner.

After dinner the men thought it was time for a soccer tournament. Since it was Clara's birthday she was allowed to make her own team. They were teams of three and so Clara decided to pick Chris and Jack. Jack because it was her boyfriend and Chris because it was Chris. She just really wanted him on her team.

They played a few games but after they lost twice she was done with it. Clara sat down on the bench. With a smile on her face, Clara looked at the people around her. Everyone was laughing and having a good time together.

Scarlett came and sat on the couch with Cosmo next to her. "Did you have a nice birthday? She asked. Clara nodded. 'This is the best birthday ever! Thank you for organizing this for me.' She thanked Scarlett, 'Don't be silly. You're my daughter. You deserve this.'

'Thank you. You really are the best mother ever.' Clara put her arms around Scarlett and she gave her a hug. Scarlett smiled. 'And you are the best daughter ever, along with Rose, of course.' Said Scarlett quickly after. Clara chuckled. 'The best mothers don't choose a favorite child. They love them all equally.' She looked at Cosmo sleeping in Scarlett's arms, and with those words from Clara, Scarlett couldn't agree more...
